Picture framers in ED

Hi everyone, I am looking for a good and reasonable picture framers to make some floater frames 24x30cm. Any recommendations? Boo

There's a good picture framer opposite the Plough pub - not sure what the business is called. Not the cheapest but good value for what you get (in my experience).

I've tried 3.

- Avocado framers near ED station, pretty good, reasonable value but a bit slow.

- Framers opposite the Plough, good all round

- One on North Cross Road, really pricey

I've tried these three and have no complaints about quality but all were slow and one was really slow, the given estimate was 2 weeks and it was over 2 months

Try the guys at the Plough. They did a picture my daughter painted and charged ?40. Cheaper than Grove Vale and quicker too.

Habitat sell 'floating' frames, and they'll be a lot cheaper than bespoke from a framers...

If you still want to go down the bespoke route, I've used Thames Gallery up from Goose Green, good quality...

I have looked at these at Habitat but they are not the right size.... Great art does good frames and they are ?20 each.... I just checking around but it looks as though GA are the quickest, mail order 5 days and the most reasonable!!

Really? It says it is 24 x 30cm. I believe you have to buy the next size up from whatever you are framing to get the floating effect, so if your image was 24 x 30cm then you would buy their 30 x 40cm frame...

The guys opposite the Plough are really good and always very helpful.We have had several things done there and always been pleased. Avoid the one on North Cross Road.

You could try Agnieszka on Bellenden Rd. http://www.agnieszkamiles.co.uk/pages/contact.html I had A3 posters printed, mounted and framed by her recently and we're very happy with the results. I'm sure she can do floating frames.

We use Thames Gallery a LOT. Really good service in my opinion, they take a lot of care and will deliberate with my OH for what sometimes seems hours to make sure he is happy. Nice women.

Generally very happy with the framers opposite the Plough - I have had several items done there - prints, drawings and oils and, although they have been a bit slower than they claim, the quality of work is good and their prices competitive.

Wanted something done a bit quicker and just paid an outrageous amount at North Cross Road - ?50.00 for most basic 12"x 12" narrow black surround with no mount. It was done within two days but now I feel stupid because I could have got something similar at Ikea.

No too far away from ED - over in Nunhead there is The Nunhead Framer https://thenunheadframer.com

They do bespoke picture frames and you can 'upgrade' to conservation quality, not cheap, but a must if the image has value.

We had a couple of pictures framed recently and have to say the service was great, would recommend to those in the area.
