Hi Everyone, this forum has been invaluable over the summer holidays, I found out about the athletics club, Bmx sessions, art sessions etc, I was doing really well planning our weekly activities until this morning, when I received an email from Dulwich Picture Gallery to say the art session was not on this week!!!!!!! Now I have three days empty with dodgy weather!

Does anyone have any suggestions of any courses and fun activities in and around Dulwich, he is not really an all day camp kind of boy, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, we are on week 7 and I think I have just run out of steam, thanks.

Herne Hill velodrome? Or if you're around to do stuff with him how about taking him up to the Olympic Park. The pool is open to all or you can book track sessions at the velodrome. Or you could just find out which of his friends are about and meet them down at the adventure playground with a picnic.

    • Thanks penguin  always wondered about that place and that’s way more info than I ever thought I would get  (used to live above a gun nut on friern road - he would tell me nothing)
    • There was a Saturday afternoon crowd of enthusiasts, and at other times the owner might have been off acquiring stock. He also repaired air guns, which he also sold. He stocked edged weapons, uniforms, including antique uniforms, air guns and ammo and starting pistols and shot. Some medals and other militaria. Quite a lot of ex service chit chat on a Saturday. I had an amateur interest, didn't deal a lot, in English pattern swords and other mainly 19th century militaria. And made some good purchases there. I'm afraid WWII and later events was the major focus of most of the regulars.
    • Did anyone actually venture in to that place? I recall it always being closed/very uninviting!
