I do find it rather rude tho when you're out wiv someone and they spend the whole time txting and then have the cheek to demand to know who has just txtd you and wanting to know the content of said txt. To the point where you are almost wrestling to save your fone.

I respect others space and I would appreciate the same in return. It's not too much to hope for is it?

YES

It must be great "dating" a Young Lady in 2009 as you would always be going out as a "threesome"....you,her and her mobile phone..:))

Have Guys on here got experience of that as it must be "subtle" way on telling the other Party that they are not the most interesting of companions...:(

You are absolutely right KK as it was clearly nothing to do with me...I mean there was Iexplaining,in detail, that Macroeconomists study aggregated indicators such as GDP, unemployment rates, and price indices to enable her to understand how the whole economy functions ans she go!:X

Often "receiving" a call from someone (doesnt have to b a real person) and having a discussion about your evening out, highlighting you would love to be having a conversation with a particular person would be nice but they obviously have things on their mind... blah blah blah can subtly get the point across. It is however, often missed when trying this on a guy... so I'm told :)

I find that rude in itself. I know it may sound a little old fashioned, but prior to mobiles, I don't think many people would do this while out with someone else.

I work in a bar and amazed to find girls (and unfortunately, it's usually girls) meeting up for drinks and then spending the whole evening texting EVERYBODY else, it seems.... Just stay in and text!

There you go KK, it is always the girls texting.

"Nearly" always those lovely Ladies!

I have noticed an amazing thing over the last few years.Try it in your area.

At random observe 50 Ladies(say 25 or under) and see how many(at any moment) are checking their phones or using them in some way like Phoning or Texting. If its NOT 70% I'll be astonished.

The joke is when there are 3 Girls walking along(say 16 or over) most times 1 or 2 WILL be on the phone or fiddling with it..

Try It.It works.:))

I suppose one way to look at it would be at least this young girl openly demonstrated to those around that she was perhaps not enjoying the evening as much as she should have (going by the general comments already expressed on this thread) rather than being deeply engaged in conversation for the whole evening where only one of you is taking it in... and that's the one whos speaking! ;-)

Our grand daughter aged 11 is no problem, but 9year old is more difficult to please. He is already going to the transport museum and has been to the science museum  Husband and I have some mobility problems so nothing too strenuous. have done Horniman's a number of times.  Is there any local holiday schemes where we can enrol him in for 2/3 days. There seems to be a number relating to singing/dancing and drama but nothing science/maths based. He does not have an interest in sport at the moment. Grand children live in Sussex and will be attending Holiday Clubs for a couple of weeks
