But not quite as popular as the show dedicated to watching those who are watching the show about paint drying. I believe its to be called 'Gogglepaintbox'...

Not really a fan but did watch last night.

It was indeed a farce. Do not remember in the past the selection system with the seats. ??

Simon Cowell seems to run the show.

Understand the judges do not wear ear-pieces and do not get directions from the shows producers. Yeah ??

.. oh and the Pope is not a Catholic.

I do actually quite enjoy the early audition stages if I'm honest with myself. The newish boot camp format is awful though.

Judge's Houses makes me want to roast bunnies alive and the main show makes me lose the will to live.

It's almost bearable if you read the Guardian Live Blog at the same time though.

Yer.. I sort of like the early stages with all the bad auditions. :)

The rest just drags on too long. but is done to make 10s X 1000's ?s ?M's in fact in phone call votes.

I believe watching it whilst undergoing Root-Canal Treatment makes the programme more bearable.

Problem is 12 weeks of root-canal treatment is very expensive.

So I just go to the pub.

I love the way she gets really obsessive about weird details, like Louis' total lack of wit or humanity, nicole's insanity gary's beard length etc...

nicely reflects my main issue with x-factor that it sells bad ideals and is less escapism than making people feel bad about their normal lives.

for once there was something worthwhile in the comments "X-factor is just a gap year from Argos"

aw I really quite like Stuart Heritage (although I haven't bought the Guardian since I turned 30*), I follow him on twitter (waves to quids).

agree with AQ, I miss AC too. Especially her unique, incisive outlook on life and fabulous cookery tips.

*round about the time Corn Laws were implemented.

I love the X-Factor

And if you don't, well just go f-UKIP yourself

Now that the niceities are over, i'm going to focus hard on the talent. Tho i've missed a few shows, due to work commitments of late, so i'm on catch up

As for Ac, she's on a path to recovery, i'm told by my source. Get well soon Annette, the finals are coming.

Edited to correct spalling

Give her my love & tell her I'll be eagerly awaiting her comments during the live shows!

There's too many of them at the moment - like flies buzzing around the dungheap.

The 'you're at weeeeeebleeeeeey' (arena, ahem) has been a trial though. A masterclass in US-style clunky-editing, zooming-in on hapless acne-ridden proles whooping on demand, desperate pantomime drama - and that stupid finger pushing the fader up.

Judges Houses and the first few live shows always a winner though, followed inevitably by the two month slow ride round the ITV u-bend and down into the stinking sewer below.

    • Awful. A Google search came up with this, but will he check his office email over Christmas? Maybe worth also contacting local councillor? 'To contact Southern Housing's CEO, Paul Hackett, you can try his direct email, [email protected], or use the general contact email [email protected], as well as calling their main number, 0300 303 1066, for general inquiries or to be directed to the executive level.' Also, from the website: https://www.southernhousing.org.uk/latest-news/2025/contacting-us-over-the-festive-period   'Contacting us about an emergency? If you have an emergency outside of the above times over the festive period, such as severe flooding, an uncontainable leak, gas leak, complete electrical failure or lift breakdown, please call us on 0300 303 1066' I hope it is sorted out soon.
    • Dawson Heights again  2 lifts out of order at ladlands block Christmas Eve so of course the 🛗 will not be repaired tomorrow Christmas Day or Boxing Day or when how do elderly or mothers with children and prams and food and presents get to the floors and with the 10 minutes you get to drop off  to park and not get a Pcn fine and delivery food to relatives who can’t leave their house unbelievable Southern housing does any know email address of Coe of southern housing
    • Sorry but I think it's best if people just check things for themselves when they buy things. In three shops/restaurants (from some years back) I just avoid the places concerned, as in all three  cases I was pretty sure it wasn't a genuine mistake, and in one place  it happened more than once and usually late at night.
    • Sorry Sue - me again. This has been on my mind all day, it's a big bug bear of mine. If you don't mind - please can you private message me some of these shops so I can cross reference / add to my AVOID list.  Thanks in advance. Let's make sure this doesn't happen this Christmas, particularly as we head into sales season. Even more problematic in my experience.
