Wanted: reiki therapy for pet

Arthritis is setting in to my elderly lurcher's back legs and is being exacerbated by the cold weather. Has anyone tried alternative therapy on their dog? Any recommendations for practitioners? Thank you.

You could check out Bioflow magnetic dog collars.

I used to sell them, but I don't any more (and no longer know anybody who does) so I have no financial interest at all!

One of my customers bought one for an old arthritic dog, and it was soon running around with a new lease of life. She went on holiday for a fortnight and left the dog with her mother.

When she came back, she was horrified to see the dog limping around again.

The weather had been very hot, and her mother had taken the magnetic collar off because she thought it was irritating the dog.

When the collar was put back on, the dog improved again.

I used to give a money back guarantee if there was no obvious improvement within three months, and I never had a pet collar returned.

I think you can get them on eBay these days. The company went haywire when it was taken over, which was when I left.

Make sure it's Bioflow - other magnetic products are often weaker in magnetic strength.

Otherwise, if you can't find a Reiki practitioner, you could try absent healing from somebody who specialises in pets. I had a cat with a rodent ulcer in his mouth which was spreading to his throat so that he could not eat. The vet said that there was nothing he could do.

As a last resort I wrote (this was in the days before email) to an absent healer whose address was in a paper I picked up in a wholefood shop. I had a letter back to say that the healer was praying for my cat. The ulcer gradually shrunk back and disappeared. The vet could not explain it. The healer never asked for any payment.

My cat lived for years after that.

Not to be disparaging of alternative therapy, but have you tried conventional medication with proven scientific results? Our elderly cat started limping after an overly ambitious jump, and we were recommended METACAM by our vet - Lordship Lane Vets - and it's done him the world of good. Limp is gone, his self cleaning is improved and he seems much happier within himself.
