Hi - can anyone please recommend a family friendly hotel for June 2015 holiday - we've two children 4 and 1 so would like to be walking distant to things. Ideally, we're wanting interconnecting rooms or children in a separate sleeping area so not sure if hotels are really geared up for this (without breaking the bank!). We need guaranteed sun so thinking perhaps Portugal, Turkey or maybe Greece.

We did a Thomson all inclusive in Majorca 2 yrs ago with 1 child and we liked the ease of it all ie kids entertainment in the evening, on the beach and close to town, just don't want to go back.

If we are barking up the wrong tree even considering a hotel are their any apartment rental recommendations?

Many thanks

We went to Menorca last year with a 4 year old and 1 year old and stayed at Punta Prima the Prestige section through sovereign

It was great - huge interconnecting apartment/hotel room so kids slept separately - lovely pool, few minutes walk to beach with a few restaurants...and then you can use the main hotel for entertainment.

We went half board as wanted the kids to be at the apartment for lunch/snooze and knew we would'nt make the most of the drinks in all inclusive etc. Half an hour from the airport. Basically highly recommended!

And the weather in mid June was 28 - 30 degrees every day...

    • It wasn't an antique and bric-a-bac shop but an antique market with a number of different traders, the cafe supported all the dealers in bringing in custom, and was good enough to generate trade for them. It was Rodney Franklin's and his partners enterprise, he previously had an antique shop in Queenstown Road in Battersea. His late wife ran the cafe (she was a very fine actress, it was a 'resting' job).  It was on the corner of a junction on the left as you head towards Camberwell. And almost opposite, if memory serves at all, an MFI style furniture outlet.
    • i used to go there in the late 80's and '90s (?) the food was served cafeteria style and there was limited choice, but what there was alays tasted amazing!  The garden was an absolute paradise, you could sit in it to lunch in the summer!  i've tried to locate its site but Walworth Road has changed so much since then - does anyone remember the house number?
