I did competitive Judo into my early 20's. I started at 6/7 whilst at boarding school ..

No assumption. You told us..

Capital M in Me. ?

I tend to capitalise some words to express the stress of the spoken word..

And what do you assume from my attendng boarding school, is it some kind of class crime Fox ?

Forget the M thing, it's insignificant

What's your point re my schooling ?

Seabag your weak almost desperate attempts to join the EDF clique are slightly odd for a late comer, and mildly embarrassing at best. You consistently want to impress the old guard clique by 'confronting' me on various issues and this evening at least winding me up, and then when taken to task or questioned about your own posts you go into self defence mode. You want to prove to me your working class credentials, with this peculiar rant. You were then once again caught out, when fox reminded you of your posts about your boarding school education (not to mention living in Clapham and boasting about meeting Z list celebs). Honestly my love, I don't care about your class, it's all gravy. Happy new year to you too!

Louisa.

Gloom Monger .. I was Out on the Lane again last night 'Shit. I MUST stop saying that.' Socialising.

Whilst those pointing the finger were sitting behind the safety of their computer keyboard. Sad.

I have been called a 'Social Butterfly' Which I suppose I am.

Egocentric ?? Hardly. I talk about things I know about. You don't hear me going on about Football.

I'm my own biggest critic.

One just gets drawn into the EDF game from time to time. The 'My Dad's as Big as the Sky' thing.

I give opinions on experiences of venues in Ed Good & Bad.

I do not hand out Personal Insults here on EDF and then look for others to back them up .

If I have something to say I say it to a persons face.

I get on with most people so that situation seldom arises.

Always up for a bit of banter though. Never comes to blows.

Anyway busy day ahead. Was suppose to have a talk with The Crime Prevention Team for ED at 11.00

but they have had to re-schedule. Just doing my bit for our Community.

So I'm off to Tesco's to do my weekly shopping. Every little helps.

I'm lost. no idea what that is supposed to mean.

I had been monitoring one of our works real Christmas trees - there was much debate on the Christmas Decoration decorating committee on the whole real/artificial benefits/drawbacks - leading up to Christmas wondering how long it was going to last... it survived the warm dark environment after closing the doors late on the 23rd Dec, was still going strong on the 30th Dec although looking fragile but sadly today after a gentle poke all the baubles (heavily decorated) simply fell off! I wasn't particularly keen on having a real one but grew to be quite attached it in the end. There is now quite a significant trail through the building and outside of the remains. I feel slightly down and empty now :-(

How long will I feel like this? :-(

KK - this is all part of the Nether Xmas experience and will end on 12th night.

The emptiness is one of many minor irritations like:

realising your determination to store things properly for next year, as you extracted a Gordian knot of fairly-lights in mid December, has evaporated in post-yuletide ennui as you stuff all lights and balls into a box that's coming apart at the seams;

knowing you will still be finding pine needles in your hosiery in July;

accepting that you are stuck with that Croatian Brandy for another year

and firmly believing that next Xmas you really WILL do something other than turkey...

    • I’m in exactly the same position.  They badgered me for ages to have a water meter fitted.  I’d prevaricated simply because it’s so tedious dealing with these people but eventually gave in when the communications became increasingly frequent and aggressive and it was done in March 2023. I just assumed I’d then be charged on actual consumption but I received an email this morning with details of the latest price increase and it said, “Since your property doesn’t have a water meter, your bill is calculated in advance based on fixed rates rather than water usage”.  I’m sure they’ve realised I’d be paying much less if they billed me on actual consumption but have not gone out of their way to inform me.  Trawling through their website, for me anyway, is an unutterably tedious chore, but I think I’ll now have to work up the energy over the weekend to pick up the phone on Monday morning and have a word with them.
    • Great Service again from Andy.  Contacted him with a couple of issues with toilet cistern and shower.  He came over and sorted it all out quickly. Good advice given, reasonable charge for the jobs.  Highly recommend Andy!
    • Just seen this.  Your post was a bit unnecessary.  I was simply responding to the previous post that children should be cycling on the pavement. But as you say I know shed loads about transport.  Not to the depths that some go down to the minutia.  Some call me the space cowboy.  Some call me the gangster of love.  I think of myself as the people's poet.  You have to laugh at yourself. Echoing what DKH said, we weren't there, you don't know the parent was making a snide remark, My favourite Dulwich parent story was a few years ago were friends when we were in the Herne garden a few years ago, who let their children run riot.  Bless.  One decided to turn the hose on spraying some poor drinkers.  Now most of us would be mortified, but the friends welcomed their child's creativity.
