Good builder needed urgently

Can anyone recommend a good builder to take a look at a large bay window in a 60s house? On the inside the wall below the window is damp. This is bad enough, but I've just heard scratching and have seen a large rat scratching away out there. On investigation it seems that the rat(s) have been going at the brickwork from the outside and if it's not sorted out soon they might get inside, which I can't deal with.

I think I need someone to help find a temporary solution to stop the problem getting worse, but I also want the whole thing replaced- brickwork and window.

Many thanks in advance for all recommendations- I was sitting watching a movie with the kids and this was not the nicest thing to be faced with!

I would recommend Gordon or his son Ian of GM plasterers they did some paviors on my front drive and lots of other building jobs and were very neat and proficient

really friendly, perfectionist, neat, helpful, informative without being patronising. Also does other building work and his daughter does decorating and tiling

    • Of course they do, watching cookery shows and buying cook books is a national pastime. However you raise a good point that some people claim they are time poor and end up eating out / takeaways as sometimes a quick macciedee is cheaper and easier than making a quick nutrious family meal.  However to put it in balance, not many people have the knowledge, confidence and time to cook Persian so good luck to team persepolis on this venture.
    • London doesn’t have a lot of Argentinian places specialising in empanadas, which suggests demand isn’t that great. There are many neighbourhoods with none at all or even nearby.  So for a mini-chain like Chango (several branches in SW London) to open here where there’s already a well established family run place doing the same feels a bit off.  I’ll be giving Chacarero my ongoing custom.
