Mike if you're a bit stuck 'til payday, I don't mind, honest.

Oh well, Mike I suppose if the two of you can run to a puke session, then probably things aren't too bad in the exchequer.

But don't ever let it get to the point where you're being dunned by Southwark Council.

Just say the word and the 70 new pence is yours.

Now don't trivialise 70 new pence.

It used to be fourteen shillings in my day. If I could get another six shillings from an honest day's pickpocketing, Oh the spree that could be had.

A night of dancing at the local palais, with enough pints of mild and Woodbines to give a reel in the head.

Then onto the local brothel where time could be spent with an inexspensive prostitute.

I wonder what became of Short-time Sheila?

Then a fish supper. And still enough left for a cab home.

We used to have to get a cab because of course we had no shoes.

Tell the kids today and they don't believe you.

Oh well.

    • Bromley is ok but in the last year, shopping centre now has a lot of security measure due to bags being snatched and assaults in or around area in broad daylight - another area where before, felt fine now more alert.
    • Twenty plus years ago, the centre of Croydon was a fine place to work in, sadly times have changed, the Whitgift centre has gradually fallen to its knees, lots of shop closures and unlikely to be redeveloped given Croydon Councils financial situation.  Always preferred Croydon to Bromley and rarely go to either.

    • My daughter wants to get her ears pierced and I am looking for recent recommendations from experiences locally.  I have heard that Polished use a needle rather than a gun which seems to be the general advice nowadays, but I remember my own experience at a similar age with a piercing gun being quick, easy and problem free.  I'm looking for somewhere that will have the skills to put my child at ease and provide a professional service with proper aftercare advice.  Many thanks
