You do not have to be an expert to like dislike what you eat...


You may not be able to make a Curry but you can tell when you have had a decent one or a poor one.

So that argument does not hold water...


.. and by that I'm NOT for one minute suggesting that Franco Manca's Pizzas are poor..

They are popular reasonably priced and I'm sure if you like Pizza that's the place to go..


PS. During the Firemans Strike back in the 70's Myself and some colleagues made Pizzas including

home made Pizza Dough and sold them to raise money for the Men (no women back then) at Lee Green Fire Station.


We made a huge profit and a load of money..

So possibly more of an expert than many... ;-)

I never go to Putney... I have no need to go to Putney...


Well I did go there once back in 1983/4 for dinner with my Ex at her previous employer's home.

and a disaster it was too.. She always wanted us to move there..

The thought of living in Putney depresses me to this day..


I have had the misfortune to pass through it on one or two occasions but not on the 37.

My then wife was a nanny and used to work for a wealthy couple in Putney..


The lady of the house was a child Psychiatrist and very intelligent person...

My ex told me she was a terrible cook and not to expect too much.

The man of the house was a senior Director of a famous cement company..


He poured out some VERY large vodkas and we were all very soon drunk.


I assumed that the lady herself thought she was a terrible cook... (Wrong) she thought she was a brilliant cook.


So.. when I said during the meal (which was very nice) that Karen (my wife) had mentioned that my host thought

she could not cook and I then said 'I think you are a brilliant cook' there was a very long silence..


There was no afters for foxy that night as we stayed over... and we had a terrible row outside Putney East Station

the next day..


So there you have it.. you asked..

We went there too on Spec - will not be going back - friendly and funky staff and service could not mask the poor and doughy undercooked pizza.


If this is Sourddough then they can keep it.


On the positive side, the cold meat and mozzarella starter to share was lovely

Well people keep bringing up my name when I'm not here.. like you have.


and I reply out of politeness. So instead of having a pop at me, why don't you write

something positive yourself about F.M. and their pizzas.

Er...you posted on this thread way before anyone mentioned you, which they probably only do in response to your somewhat negative posts and so the cycle continues ad nauseum...


FM pizzas? I think they are tasty and very good value. Personal choice though and I'd rather choose the Gowlett for pizza or Il Mirto which I am very fond of too.

They are serious and its a shame they don't take the pizza-making process as seriously. Have been disappointed 3 times now and I have no intention of going back. Pizza soggy, mozzarella rubbery and old. Do not recommend wasting your money on very low grade pizzas.

Declared by my father yesterday as the best pizza he'd ever had. And under a tenner. Excellent. I'm averaging about once a week here, my only complaints would be having to go full Lara Croft to get to some of the tables and the organic lemonade which is reminisent of those locally infamous bottles of orange liquid!
