Okay, I know this weekend will be a BANK HOLIDAY weekend but I think the Sunday Afternoon Scrabble is a good idea, (of course I will need to check if football is on at the MAG). Followed by the MAG Quiz.


So don't be shy let me know if you can make it for a game, last week we had our most members turn up a grand total of 6 players on super scrabble. If we get more this week we might have to organise more boards

Oh god, I feel terrible about this - and really, truly I am not usually so disorganised (I can actually feel myself blushing as I write this) but I can't make next Sunday. Aggghhhh - I have got to get my life organised.

But my weekday availability still stands - I promise.

Well Scrabble Meet Update


2 Games of Super Scrabble


1st Game - Allycat, Peteoverhill, Mogs, Adam, Leander, Floating Onion


Peteoverhill - 334 Points

Mogs - 257 Points

Adam - 201 Points

Leander - 174 Points

Floating Onion - 167 Points

Allycat - 151 Points


2nd Game - Allycat, Peteoverhill, Mogs, Adam, Leander, Floating Onion, Mr. Mogs

As you can see, we are mixture of players.

If you can't make Wednesday, the Sunday meets are quite popular, and the quiz at the Mag, we won yester 12 bottles of wine.

Tonight's Scrabble started slow with just myself and Davemc, scores as follows


Davemc - 395

Mogs - 255


Yes I got beat by 140 points.


Then it got chilly outside and we moved inside about to start our second game when Misses Sean Mcgabhan turns up and we complete two more games, scores as follows


Davemc - 228

Mogs - 170

Misses Mcgab - 148



Davemc - 159

Mogs - 219

misses Mcgab - 143


so I finally had a win.


Next Game is Sunday 9th September in THE Plough at 4PM - PM me if you want to attend or those of you who have my number text me Yay or Nay it helps me organise which boards to bring.

Sean jibbed out of this game as he couldn't take the pace.


And yes I got my butt well and truely whipped in the second game.

      He/she followed me and my friends quite a long way along the road so we worried they might be out of their catchment area. Quite dusty paws which also made me think perhaps they’d been roaming away from home for a few days. Took photos in case anyone is missing them! Very pretty, friendly long-haired black and white cat, leopard print collar, pink paw-print metal tag. They eventually stopped following us across the road from Mrs Robinson.

      I took it to mean that he was going to present all sides of the argument (for want of a better term) rather than just giving his own opinion. I didn't take it to mean that he was calling "his own views" balanced.

      I just did this survey. There are a number of problems with it. For example, in at least two questions you have an option "other, please specify" but there is no way to specify what the "other" is. Also, you have several questions where if you have nothing appropriate to answer, you get a statement "this is a required question", or words to that effect, so you have to put in something like "nothing" in order to move on. Can I suggest that this is likely to confuse people so they just give up half way through? Maybe you should test it out on a few people before going "live" with it?

      Brockwell Lido - in a miserable state

      I went to Brockwell Lido on a hot day last summer to do some lengths. It was busy.  I kept getting other people's hair, which was floating around the pool, tangled in my hands. It was gross. I'm not sure if that was unusual, or if it's always like that on a hot day.
