They do after you've kicked them in the shins.

As for the obsession with intimidating women in leather, well that is an entirely different set of psychopathologies that I hope don?t have anything to do with having been beaten by men in batman capes.

So far in little more than a week 'poppylucky' has been abused on a 'double-decker' 436, been given inside information on a counterfeiting operation in Playfield Crescent, and attacked by giant rats in Sainsbury. Well, I ain't seen no rats but I certainly smell one.

It's not always the kids that are mouthy. During recent bad weather I travelled to work by bus, very crowded and I stood up for most of the journey. Noticed a spare seat next to a woman in her 20s near the front of the bus - everyone was eying this seat but not taking it. Went over and noticed the woman's hand bag on the seat, said excuse me can you move your bag. Was told to F off, I had no right to sit on the seat as she did not want to get crushed. Admittedly I am on the plus side but this woman was about a size 20 herself. I just picked up her bag, dumped it on her lap, said tough luck, these seats are for disabled passengers or those with young children, I am disabled, and have a freedom pass to prove it.

She continued to swear at me for the rest of my journey. I got a lot of smiles and thumbs up from many of the other passengers, some of whom had been refused a seat by her.

Hey good for you to stick up for yourself on the bus! i did exactly the same and all i got was abuse back but persevered with my complaint to the bus conductor. If more people were bit more braver and reclaim out streets and buses back then a better society we would be.

I'm fed-up with the other moaning minnies and P.C crowd whose only reaction is inertia and tut tutting - do something about it if you want results....!

    • I would love something like this..I remember the one where Gails is now..It had some bric a brac furniture and 2nd hand clothes, I don't remeber the Oyster bar. The issue with the one on Zenoria St-And I speak as a long time habitué of Portobello, Kensington Market, Alfies,Spitalfields,Covent Garden (back when it had a decent vintage market on Mondays in the 80's and Early 90's) ..Was that a lot of the stuff they sold looked a bit meh..like a bad car boot fair. I also remember when we first moved here a small indoor market on the corner of North X road and Felbrigg rd that had bric a brac and bits of furniture..That one had some good stuff. I think the secret is in having a good mix of stalls selling well curated pieces at decent prices...It would also be good to have a few tables and rails available to rent for one-off sellers (car boot style) by application. When I lived in Notting Hill I used to do Portobello under the flyover a couple of times a year and made really decent money because people tended to go there on sundays for the Casual stallholders rather the same dealers selling the same stuff.
    • Highly recommend landscape gardener Jasper Davis. Jasper designed and built me a bespoke summer house.  He also transformed my garden including natural paving/sleepers and planting. Can't recommend him enough.IMG_9568.HEIC Contact Jasper on 07966 251778

    • I don't think so, sadly. The Zenoria Street indoor market failed to take off and generally speaking traders at Christmas Fairs and Farmers Markets are reporting that it isn't worth their while now. If you go to North Cross Road, the vast majority of visitors are only buying the street food! It was the same when I went to the Horniman Sunday market and second hand market yesterday. With the lack of footfall I couldn't understand how any of the traders could be making any money.
