Hi!

This message to update some information. The collections now take place at the All Inn One pub (just behind Forest Hill train station - Perry Vale side) every Thursday from 5:30 to 7:00pm. Have a look on the left entrance (you'll see the standing banner), this is where it happens and don't hesitate to push the door, come in and see the beautiful range of fresh products we offer.

We hope this will be easier for locals to pop up in on their way back home for instance!

Hi!

Next week we will celebrate Valentine's day (on Sunday), for this very special occasion, you will find organic wine and honey. If you like it hot, make a tagine with a Very Nice Idea's kit. Try also Elvira's tagliatelle, tarts, breads and cakes, all suitable for veg, non veg and gluten free diets. Tarts can stay fresh for 5 days if refrigerated (or can be frozen), cakes 7 days and breads 2 days. Rum and almond chocolate truffles as well as vegan chocolate cake have just been added to the market! Don't miss them as there will only be available for this special occasion.

Now some fresh info from your Assembly:

- we are still in touch with the Forest Hill Fishmonger, we hope he will join the Assembly soon.

- Brambletye - the fruit grower - can't deliver this week but will be back next week.

- Marsh produce should bring cheese, ham and milk from Kent soon.

- If you want jam, it will be available from Wednesday 10th for the collection Thursday 18th.

Today we'll celebrate Pancake's day with pancakes and jam. Feel free to pop in to meet us.

Hi! The new sale is open; we suggest you to try:

- A Very Nice Idea's new flatbread, that you can order separately but you will save when you buy the falafel or curry and flatbread kits together.

- Brambletye's special offer: save when you order apples and pears or apples and eggs. Very interesting is the tray of 30 eggs: if it's too much for you, think to share it! But did you know that you can keep them up to 3 weeks?

- Emma is back with her excellent jams, chutney's and infused sugars. If you have missed them for pancake's day, try them now or be patient. She will be back in 2 weeks.

- We also highly recommend Elephant Bakehouse cinnamon buns topped with lemon icing. We have had one every Friday Morning since we first tried them!

You can also be a brewer the 21st February thanks to Clarkshaw's brewery based in Brixton. Lucy and Ian will teach you the art of brewing. Most interesting! Book your place now!

The market will be open till Wednesday 17th 2am! for collection on Thursday at the All Inn One pub from 5:30 to 7:00.

    • Perhaps Gooseygreeny was not familiar with the wildlife before Gala was imposed on the park, since when its value to wildlife has deteriorated. The Park had never been disturbed before, as the council had respected it as a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation, so only the Common was licensed by them as a site for events. The first time Gala held their event, there was a tree with woodpeckers nesting in it right in the middle of the main field they used and thrushes, blackbirds and great tits nesting within the shrubs and trees immediately surrounding the field. The woodpeckers were thriving on ants from the anthills in the grass. To those of us who used to enjoy watching the wildlife, it was very obviously a Site of Importance for a variety of birds. Despite being accessed by the public and their dogs, it had been relatively undisturbed,  which was one of the main reasons why it was so special and why I have been opposed to the Gala festival being held during the bird nesting season.
