Koz Closing

Don't think it could compete with Hisar..

Although that too has been a bit of a let down recently since it was taken over.

Most kebabs seem to come with a choice of Chips or Rice/Bulgar served with Salad..

Last time I went to K?z I got 'Cold boiled vegetables' with my Lamb Shish in place of salad. Nasty..

I've never been into Koz or strangely enough any of that particular building's previous incarnations. At least I don't think I have. Anyway, the rents around here have become prohibitively expensive thanks to despicably greedy landlords. So we can expect some very bland chain moving in, which is a shame.

"I was under the impression that the last 3 incarnations were owned and run by the same people.."

That was my impression too, and I guess in light of this news that they had a long-ish commercial lease rather than a proper long lease or freehold, and its now up for renewal or rent review.

It's a shame they're going - I thought the food was pretty good, and it was generally a different style of place from most of the LL restaurants, and variety is good. I'm not going to say a landlord is doing anything wrong by trying to maximise their return, but it seems pretty shortsighted when there have been retail units lying empty and a mixed record for new openings.

It's a forum. People chat about stuff. Most chat is trivial.

And in that vein, I'd like to throw in the possibility that Nando's might be interested in this space - it's big and near to the new cinema. Or maybe even Pizza Express. I wouldn't want either, but I suspect my desires count for nothing.

So you slag me off here for being Negative ?? after slagging me off in another thread

when I posted something Positive about another Trader Wilsons Cycles which you had a dispute with.

Double standards or just being personal.

Slagging you off? Genuine LOL at that. Someone disagreeing about a bike shop is slagging you off? And pointing out that you're pretty much the most miserable, negative poster on here is slagging you off as well? Behave yourself, Dulwichfox.

    • This week's edition of The Briefing Room I found really useful and impressively informative on the training aspect.  David Aaronovitch has come a long way since his University Challenge day. 😉  It's available to hear online or download as mp3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002n7wv In a few days time resident doctors -who used to be known as junior doctors - were meant to be going on strike. This would be the 14th strike by the doctors’ union since March 2023. The ostensible reason was pay but now the dispute may be over without more increases to salary levels. The Government has instead made an offer to do something about the other big issue for early career doctors - working conditions and specialist training places. David Aaronovitch and guests discuss what's going on and ask what the problem is with the way we in Britain train our doctors? Guests: Hugh Pym, BBC Health Editor Sir Andrew Goddard, Consultant Gastroenterologist Professor Martin McKee, Professor of European Public Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Mark Dayan, Policy Analyst, Nuffield Trust. Presenter: David Aaronovitch Producers: Caroline Bayley, Kirsteen Knight, Cordelia Hemming Production Co-ordinator: Maria Ogundele Sound Engineers: Michael Regaard, Gareth Jones Editor: Richard Vadon
