Last time we were in Sydney, we spent a morning wandering around here which also takes its name from Dulwich in the UK. From memory there is also a Lewisham Street and a Sydenham Hill in that area too.

That's funny. I used to live in Dulwich Hill and Lewisham, before I moved here from Australia.

So for me it was completely the other way round.

Dulwich Hill was a great place to live.

Dulwich in Adelaide is quite parched during the summer months, I went there on my travels and found it extremely hot but a fairly pleasant place to be. Some of the people in one of the local pubs out there told me of a museum in the town which has a section about Dulwich, Surrey (our Dulwich) and how the first settlers came from that part of England hence the adoption of the name. Apparantly some of the people still claim to be direct descendents of this early Dulwich explorers. I hope they dont have arguments over class and gentrification like we all do.

It's funny, Fosters seems to be an English thing.

Living in Sydney, I never knew of anyone who drank it. It's so passe there.

But then Adelaide is something (and somewhere) else altogether.

Definitely no Fosters drinking in Adelaide. Only the local beers Coopers and West End Breweries.

No arguments over class etc in Dulwich, Adelaide...the servants aren't allowed to speak.
