Most places welcome children especially for Sunday lunch as this is traditionally a time where families meet for a dimsum meal. I quite like:

Bear in mind places get busy so make sure you make a booking and service may be a bit rushed/frantic.

I've always enjoyed New World for Sunday dim sum.Gets busy but you can queue up get a ticket and I've never had to wait longer than ten minutes. They have the old stainless steel carts they wheel to your table so once you are sat down you can get food within a few minutes.Haven't been post children (due to our daughter's sesame allergy!) but always used to see families eating together so definitely family friendly.

I second the New World. I've been there with my children, and it works well there, dining with children, as they can see what is coming around on the trolleys and choose what they would like to eat. It's a bit like a mobile buffet so there is next to no time between sitting down and the first mouthful! It is not a quiet place, many families and people talking.

There isn't anywhere in Chinatown I can think of where kids are not welcome, and as already mentioned on a Sunday lunchtime you can expect to see loads of families with three or even four generations sat together.

New World is a good choice, I think the best quality dim sum is at Joy King Lau which is just off Lisle Street, Dumplings Legend on Gerrard Street unsurprisingly does really good dumplings (and you can see them being made), or if you fancy roast duck go to Four Seasons.

    • According to this site, Giff Gaff is your best bet.  You only need to make a quick 25p call every 180 days to keep the sim active.  Diarise right and that's about 50p a year.   https://kenstechtips.com/index.php/best-payg-sim-for-low-usage
    • I think that's about it.  I know 1pmobile.com do £10 for 60days, or £48/yr, both of which include substantial usage if you need it. PS just checked.  £5 in it too for each of us if you want a referral.
    • Oh. I've been looking into this (online) and it seems I would still have to pay something (at least a fiver)  every month even if I wasn't using the phone, because they all seem to be 30 day rolling contracts. Have I misunderstood? I need something for emergency use only.
