craigyboy71
Just seen a "for sale" sign outside the luxurious East Dulwich Hotel on Upland Road - surely it will be sold as residential properties? It would be a good project for a developer. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/55844-east-dulwich-hotel-for-sale/ Share on other sites
Pickle
Would be a great opportunity to create some really nice guestrooms and fill the "where can my visiting relatives/friends stay" void. But my money is on developer, rip it down, new build townhouses/flats. MrBen
I like the idea of these neighbourhood "microtels" but not sure how much business it would get during the week. Jules-and-Boo
Personally, I think it's a pity it will get converted to houses. It's currently full and provides much needed cheap accomodation and rooms can be rented on a weekly basis - no need for extortionate deposits. It's only being sold as the owner is very ill. alice
agreed. If its full and making a reasonable profit - it may well continue in current form. alice
trouble is that would cost 200k ish the cost of which would have to be passed on to clients which defeats jandb's point above. its what happens when private landlords do the job the council should be doing and still get crap thrown at them. worldwiser
?2m + ?1m refurb = 600k per house cost price. Sell for min 850k per house, ?1.25m profit. No brainer. I bet offers will come in way above that. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/55844-east-dulwich-hotel-for-sale/#findComment-834592 Share on other sites

East of Dulwich
Was this ever really a hotel, and if so, does anyone know anyone who admits to staying there?I always thought it was either a scam or a joke. craigyboy71
yeah it's only 4 houses, so ?500k each... they need a lot of work though, so the ?2m asking price might be pushing it slightly.Loz Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> worldwiser Wrote:> --------------------------------------------------> -----> > ?2m + ?1m refurb = 600k per house cost price.> Sell> > for min 850k per house, ?1.25m profit. > > Surely there are only four houses? 24-30 Upland> Road suggests only four, anyway. Pugwash
ground floor of the hotel was originally a shop. Not really a hotel more of a cheap hostel.
