Anyone else hear this pain in the arse pretty much every night roaring around the Goodrich Road/Friern Road area? The noise from his scooter makes the windows in our flat shake and you can hear him half way down the road towards Peckham Rye!!!

No idea where he lives, but seen him flying around the roads a few times and he drives like a bloody mad man. Can this sort of thing be reported to the authorities?

Speak to the Local Safer Neighborhood team and see what they recommend.

It may be that there is nothing you can do, but they may (at the very least) have a quiet word with him to alert him to the noise nuisance he is causing (and may well not know about)

It's one particular guy on a silver scooter. I noticed him on Monday afternoon going up Lordship and couldnt believe the racket. Ever since then I've heard him going around Lordship late at night.

What was wrong with just putting playing cards on the rear spoke or you raleigh bike?

Its a guy at the end of Hillcourt/ Goodrich near Donkey alley who does the work on scooters to soup them up. Therefore, the local kids come to visit him late at night to get work done. Therefore, its not actually that easy to deal with, unless he is trading illegally... Trading standards may be the best approach along with the rozzers.

Can anyone who heard this do two things:

Report to the East Dulwich safer neighborhood team (Duncan Jackson) on 020 8721 2447 AND the Peckham Rye team (Neil Cook) 020 8721 2443.

Second - send a noise complaint report to Southwark on: https://securesite.southwark.gov.uk/ShowForm.asp?fm_fid=480

or call 020 7525 5777.

A little pressure should resolve this.

I've heard this twonk. Might I suggest all of us concerned simply stand at your window or on the pavement and point and laugh at him. He is doing it just to show off after all and if he was made to look ridiculous instead he'd quickly stop. I'm not sure what these types think is going to happen by having a very noisy scooter. Are the local ladies going to be alerted to his presence by the racket and chase him down the street begging for a date because he has a little bike that makes a lot of noise?

In my experience little things that make a lot of noise are rarely a turn on to women.

Bugger - better put the baffle back onto my mini

Oer I ride a silver scooter around Friern road area but normally 8am on the way out and then 7pm on the way back. Please do not throw stones at me I think my bike is quiet and standard but please point out if my 125 is starting to sound like a Harley. thanks.

Loving your work, Jamma. I hear this prat fairly frequently revving his little hairdryer in the small hours. What a dick. A complaint seems unlikely to do any good, though. Buy some earplugs and sleep through it, or set overnight piano wire between 2 lamposts at a height of about 5"...

(although if i can ever afford another bike then i'd appreciate it if the wire idea could be revoked when i'm working late ;-))

Left a message for Duncan to call me and filled in the form on the Southwark website. Hopefully put an end to this god awful noise.

Failing that - the piano wire acorss the road seems a good shout!!!

We're on dunstan's road and often hear the roar of the t*** on his bike and yes our windows shake as well. Last night was particularly bad. Will report the noise also - hopefully if enough people do, something might be able to be done (...well one can dream!).

Just as a question, has anyone actually mentioned the problem to the rider, he/she may not know they are causing a nuisance and may well not realise that they are p@ssing off 90% of East Dulwich, or they may have a blown exhaust that needs repairing and they are stalling it until pay day.

Whilst I am not normally tolerant, I would say give them the benefit of the doubt before purchasing piano wire as the red tape involved in a headless rider is huge....:'(

It's difficult to do so as when ever I have heard him it's been late at night and by the time I think to get up... he's half way towards Peckham. Will be putting in a late shift tonight to have a word.

Spoke to Duncan who was very nice and helpful and if anyone catches a glimpse of his registration number we've to get it to Duncan as he can pay him a visit at home.

Its not that particular rider. Its the guy who deregulates the scooters - so there are multiple people visiting. Therefore, the person to deal with is the one doing the work.

I will have a word with his parents.

So glad this has come up and is annoying others too! I thought I was getting old and crabby! And I thought it might be a pizza delivery...Complaining seems a good idea but after reading the posts I am unsure - are we dealing with one biker or many?

Seems it might be multiple riders... still if we can get one registration number, Duncan can pay him a visit and obtain the information as to who the guy is doing the work....

    • What was he doing on the stage at Glastonbury? Or on the stage at the other concert in Finsbury Park? Grinning like a Cheshire cat whilst pissed and stoned 20 somethings on the promise of free internet sung-- Oh Jeremy Corbyn---  What were his policies for Northern mining towns with no jobs or infrastructure? Free Internet and university places for youngsters. What were his other manifesto pledges? Why all the ambiguity over Brexit?  I didn't like Thatcher, Blair or May or Tony but I respected them as politicians because they stood by what they believed in. I respect all politicians across the board that stick to their principles. Corbyn didn't and its why he got  annihilated at the polls. A socialist, anti imperialist and anti capitalist that said he voted for an imperialist and pro capitalist cabal. He refused to say how he'd vote over and over again until the last knockings. He did so to appease the Islington elite and middle class students he was courting. The same people that were screaming that Brexit was racist. At the same time the EU were holding black and Asian immigrants in refugee camps overseas but not a word on that! Corbyn created and courted a student union protest movement that screamed at and shouted down anyone not on the left . They claimed Starmer and the centre right of labour were tories. He didn't get elected  because he, his movement and policies were unelectable, twice. He turned out not to have the convictions of his politics and died on his own sword.    Reform won't win an election. All the idiots that voted for them to keep out Labour actually enabled Labour. They'll be back voting tory next time.    Farage wouldn't be able to make his millions if he was in power. He's a very devious shyster but I very much doubt he'd actually want the responsibility that governance requires.
    • The purge of hard left members that were part of Corbyn's, Mcdonnel's and Lansmans momentum that purged the party of right wing and centrist members. That's politics. It's what Blair did to win, its what Starmer had to do to win. This country doesn't vote in extreme left or right governments. That's partly why Corbyn lost  We're pretty much a centrist bunch.  It doesn't make it false either. It's an opinion based on the voting patterns, demography and statistics. Can you explain then why former mining constituencies that despise the tories voted for them or abstained rather than vote for Corbyns Labour?  What is the truth then? But he never got elected!!! Why? He should have been binned off there and then. Why he was allowed to hang about is an outrage. I hold him party responsible for the shit show that we've had to endure since.
    • Depends on what the Barista says doesnt it? There was no physical confrontation with the driver, OP thinks she is being targetted when she isnt. These guys work min wage under strict schedules so give them a break unless they damage your stuff
    • CPR Dave, attendance records are available on Southwark's website. Maggie Browning has attended 100% of meetings. Jon Hartley has attended 65%.
