Hi all,

I'm doing a project at the moment and it is focussed on juggling mums (i.e. full time/part time work plus look after kids). As I am not a mum, I wondered if anyone out there would be willing to share some info on their 'lifestyle'?

I need to find out in what kind of social situations you would crack open a bottle of wine, for example is it with a group of friends? What makes you sometimes buy something special? When you go shopping do you 'stick a bottle in the trolley' or is it a conscious choice? If someone offered to let you try something new, would you take them up on the offer? What would it take to make you buy it?

Finally, as a busy mum, when do you get time to yourself and what do you do when you get it?

Thanks everyone. I know that I am being nosey, however I can't afford to sling a few grand to a research company so all thoughts welcome.

Beazo

What is the research in aid of? Is it for academic purposes? Sounds interesting, I studied Psych at uni (did some focus groups about alcohol comsumption) and am now expecting my first child so you've got my attention! There is a great place here to find busy mums xxxxxxxx if you like but please let me know how the study is going! x

well spotted Ted Max, Bounty2009 has certainly been busy http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=bounty2009&sourceid=navclient-ff&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1B3GGGL_enGB261GB261

It seems she works for an agency in London called Pass it on Media that "specialise in social media: from word-of-mouth / buzz / guerilla marketing to viral content creation and seeding."

Some call it creating a buzz, I call it spamming the forum and so she has been banned.

    • How does your mind work? This is a thread about a bakery that may be opening. Your grasp of history is extremely weak. Mosley’s fascists were opposed and defeated all over the east end, not with petitions either. The principal leadership in driving them back came from the Communist Party but it was a united, cross community movement. The Daily Mail provided constant support for the British Union of Fascists and, along with sections of the Conservative Party, echoed their racist rhetoric. Plus ca change, plus c’est la meme chose. Excuse my French. To characterise pro-Palestinian demonstrations attended by thousands of Jews among the hundreds of thousands of people from across British society as “protesting Jews’ rights to exist” or comparing them to Mosley’s blackshirts is frankly sickening. You should be utterly embarrassed and ashamed of yourself.
    • I really hope so too, but they aren't going to get much passing trade, and parking round there isn't easy. Fingers crossed.
    • What's your answer, then? Should the council raise council tax to employ double or treble or more the number of workers to spend all their time clearing leaves from every street every day? Leaves have been cleared from my street several times since leaf fall began, including as I say very recently. It's impossible to keep every street permanently clear, and the situation is made worse by heavy rain. My partner broke his ankle in several places a year or so back when he slipped on wet leaves. He didn't blame the council.
    • Yes I will read it, but I still stand by what I said. This thread is not the place to discuss it, but I'm happy to do so if you want to start a thread in the lounge.
