Builder recommendation - Aqua Build

My girlfriend and I bought our first property earlier this year and wanted to get straight on to changing the main living area by completely replacing the kitchen and moving it to a different area of the open plan living room. We had very tight deadline schedule needs and not the deepest of pockets. After researching the area it dawned on me to try on here and after finding a recommendation we got Robert and Aqua Build it to quote. He came over as soon as he could and provided a very extensive and reasonable quote. We had another couple of people come over to quote but non of the others seemed to understand the needs of the job as Robert did nor did they come close to the quote price of Robert and Aqua Build. So it we took Robert up on his quote and have not been left disappointed.

He was very helpful specking out the job for us and also very understanding when things didn?t go to plan and more work was needed. The job although not the biggest involved a lot of work due to re-directing the gas and water works. In the end our kitchen looks amazing and the whole flat just seems like a completely different place. Robert was very helpful throughout and always kept us up to date with developments and costing?s to make sure we didn?t overspend.

I would most definitely recommend Robert and Aqua Build for any home improvements in the area. We are hoping to get the team back in later in the year for our bathroom.

This forum is a great way to get reviews from people around the area and we wouldn?t have found Robert without it so I think it only right to pass our experience on.

I got in contact with Robert from his website: http://www.aqua-build.co.uk/

But you can reach him on his mobile: 07543366231

(PM me if you have any further questions or want to see photos of the work done)

Hi,

I would like to add another recommendation for Aqua-Build.

Robert with Peter did fantastic work on my bathroom.

Work was done on time and within the budget.

They even created WhatsApp group with me and posted daily updates, photos, questions etc.

The whole experiance was spotless.

If anyone need more information, please email me at [email protected]

I'd like to add another recommendation for Aqua Build.

After numerous previous problems with one of our bathrooms, and poorly done patch up jobs by other tradesmen, we decided to bite the bullet and get the whole room re-done. Robert from Aqua Build provided a very competitive quote, kept us updated through the whole process; and we're very happy with the end result (pic of end result attached).

Would happily recommend Aqua-Build. Please PM me if after any further information.

We also used Aqua Build - Robert and his team fitted a new kitchen and bathroom for us earlier this year. They did an excellent job - I would highly recommend.

The work was done quickly and to a very high standard. Communication was also very good ? we got daily updates on how it was going.

We had another contractor install soundproofing under the floor. The final stage of this was a rubber mat over the floor - but our very uneven floor meant it would have been difficult to install new flooring on top. Within a day (and at minimal cost) Robert and his team fixed this ? taking up the soundproofing, straitening the floor joists and re-laying the soundproofing.

Overall a great experience, and we are really pleased with our new kitchen and bathroom.

Booked an appointment with Aqua-Build. I took time off work, had an email & text to advise me of my appointment on the day. No one turned up, I called the mobile & left a message. No one called me back or responded to my email. So they are out of the running. Any other recommendations would be appreciated.
I?m really surprised to see the last comment - obviously it?s not good that they missed an appointment but we used Robert and Sebastian for a job earlier this year and they could not have been more professional and we certainly felt they were trustworthy. No connection - but wanted to balance based on my experience.

Following the positive reviews we went with Robert and Aqua build. However, halfway through the job he disappeared and we have been unable to trace him via phone or his office address (which he no longer resides at, despite him telling us he did). He owes us a significant amount of money for materials he never bought and his unexpected departure from the job has caused us and incredible amount of stress and anger. I thought we had built a good working relationship and as a result paid him regular sums of money for his labour (which we do not begrudge paying but given these requests were often tied with a personal matter that now appears to be a fabrication, this just adds to the deceit).

It is my belief that I am not the first to have experienced this (his landlord told me someone else had recently come looking for him because of an incomplete project) so please do not make the same mistake and employ Robert Kaczanowski and his company Aqua build.

I still live at the same address. Never changed it!

I do not owe you anything but ?178 for materials. Anyway you have not paid enough for the work that's been done. (the bathroom have been almost completed with tiles almost done. It was the grouting, painting, lighting to be still done only - 4 days of work!). From 3.6K you have only paid ?1.6. for the labour. It looks like you have not talked to my landlord - another lie.

To do work up to this stage I have spent over ?800 for materials, and still have ?178. so it's a lie that I haven't bought anything.

Just to remind you, you still have my tools worth around 1k...

I would like to add message to new customers - I do not take any deposits, and leave 40% of the labour cost to be paid after work is completed 100%. This year I have done few projects with 100% happy customers and can provide contact details n request.

Zarah, yes, we are doing very well this year. I am happy to exchange ?178 that's left from materials for my tools.

But I don't see his customers decamped next door - no, those stalwarts are still out in force every night.  In Roman times all businesses were clustered by product. It's what kept prices down. It's called healthy competition - you can't curtail the expansion of your business on the basis you that might hurt someone else's.

    • In restaurant terms I would say a chain manifests when the motivation is no longer “we are a couple/small group who have an idea and love food” who open a restaurant, them another and then a few more BUT THEN PIVOT to “we need capital to rollout out new restaurants so we have leveraged the help of the following investors”  that is the moment it stops being about the chef/food on the plate and becomes about the spreadsheet  so it is POSSIBLE  for a restaurant to have 50 branches and not be a chain - but I can’t think of any  I don’t know chango - by based on the number of outlets they appear to have just crossed/or are about to cross that line
