Hi we are just back and stayed at hotel Tree Charme, just off the pantheon, it was very central, modern and amazingly friendly.

Have a little look here http://www.treecharme.com

it was ?120 including breakfast.

We've also stayed at Casa Howard before (behind the spanish steps) and it's lovely but a bit more expensive.

Hope you have a great time, it is my favourite City to visit!

I found that Rome hotels are expensive generally. It's such a destination that hotels have high occupancy rates and tariffs reflect that. To find somewhere that fits your brief for as low as 120 Euros a night is good! We paid less but couldn't recommend where we stayed. Great place though...have a good trip.

    • At the time of posting previously, we had no idea of the dates we would be having the children. The maths place - you pay for a course of lessons . The coding session would be good but you need to book well in advance. Also grandson has been doing coding since 6 years old. He now has a 'mentoring role' at his primary school as his knowledge of this subject is years above his chronological age. Dates are still up in the air as their father is trying to juggle leave from a new job in the north of the country.
    • why not have a pasty shop - we could have Cornish pasties, Jamaican patties, empanadas from all the different regions.... I like all three.  I'm still going to support the Chacarero family business, as I don't support chains, just as I don't buy anything from Gail's, Nero, Starbucks etc.
    • Thought it had been a fish and chip shop at one time?
    • Try Gentrification, those with more money than sense who constantly want something different, when pie and mash isn't good enough for them.  "Argentinian Cornish pasties" give3 me a proper Cornish pastie any day of the week, at least I'd be supporting something traditionally British.   ps. tin hat at the ready........................🤣
