"And by Our Own Hand Did Every Last Bird Lie Silent in Their Puddles, the Air Barren of Song as the Clouds Drifted Away. For Killing Their Greatest Enemy, the Locusts Noisily Thanked Us and Turned Their Jaws Toward Our Crops, Swallowing Our Greed Whole." by Red Sparowes.

The Sad But True Story Of Ray Mingus, The Lumberjack Of Bulk Rock City, And His Never Slacking Stribe In Exploiting The So Far Undiscovered Areas Of The Intention To Bodily Intercourse From The Opposite Species Of His Kind, During Intake Of All The Mental Condition That Could Be Derived From Fermentation - Rednex
"All Fur Coat & No Knickers" by "Chumbawamba" from the album "The Boy Bands Have Won, and All The Copyists and The Tribute Bands and The TV Talent Show Producers Have Won, If We Allow Our Culture To Be Shaped By Mimicry, Whether From Lack Of Ideas Or From Exaggerated Respect. You Should Never Try To Freeze Culture. What You Can Do Is Recycle That Culture. Take Your Older Brother?s Hand-Me-Down Jacket and Re-Style It, Re-Fashion It to the Point Where It Becomes Your Own. But Don?t Just Regurgitate Creative History, Or Hold Art And Music And Literature As Fixed, Untouchable And Kept Under Glass. The People Who Try To ?Guard? Any Particular Form Of Music Are, Like The Copyists And Manufactured Bands, Doing It The Worst Disservice, Because The Only Thing That You Can Do To Music That Will Damage It Is Not Change It, Not Make It Your Own. Because Then It Dies, Then It?s Over, Then It?s Done, and The Boy Bands Have Won."

    • Be careful that your* post isn't akin to the next "Graham Linehan" type that breaks the camels back. * refers to both sides of this discussion
    • You can seek better understanding by following interviews with people; you may find people are quite unaffected by being labelled right wing/ racist. you may also find that the local council is also anti the hotel use, it’s not just individuals

    • Does anyone in this thread have any more information about what is happening to the Grove Tavern? As I understand it, Stonegate's lease should now be coming to an end. There has also been quite a lot of activity around the site - not just the works to create the crossing, but also some general clearing and tidying. A promising sign perhaps?  On the off chance anyone from Dulwich Estate monitors this forum, please do give us an indication of what is going on. As a local resident, I know that all of us on that stretch of Lordship Lane would really appreciate a bit more information.
