Yes, Tfwsoll, busted, though frankly I've been more blatantly fictitious than that before, so well done.

Though this was the only one that had any personal significance. My Uncle Jimmy's funeral is next week.

He was a resolute bachelor for most of his life and as a kid I recall when he visited he'd be a 'ten bob note' uncle whose visits I would relish.

Not altogether for pecuniary reasons he was funny and lively and wore what I perceived to be 'cool' garments as opposed to my parents who were of course ancient relics.

He informed me that the vapour trails from aircraft were left by the pilot sticking his hand out of the 'plane's window and holding a brush loaded with whitewash up to the sky.

A far more imaginative and fanciful reason than the dry truth which went on to inform my outlook/thinking.

Possibly had something to do with failing my Physics O' Level, but well...

Anyway he met Coleen in his fifties and they wed. Very happy they were until she died about 10 years ago.

Jimmy, broken-hearted (it seems a trite phrase/diagnosis but an existential pain became a constant in his life) and he resorted to the bottle (not in the least abstemious prior to this) but in a fashion that meant there was only going to be one outcome.

Sorry, this isn't a thread for this, really, just my self-indulgent musings. Come, move on.
