I once checked out the floor space in a Primark and was shocked to discover I couldnt actually move at all, the ground was littered with cheap clothing items apparantly 'new'!

Louisa.

Hi,

This morning at 8am they had no entry signs in the vegetable area as they were scubbing the floor! Given that the store is open 24 hours, my reasoning is that they should scrub at say 01.00 and then mop over at 7.00. Gee the store has really gone downhill! But this may be that they had a Celeb arriving at 09.30 and the idea was to take the subject (after the meet & greet) straight through to the staff canteen - no out of date stock there then!

Also, why is it that the Sainbury's 'Basics' grapes are more expensive than the other type's that are on offer?

Bing bong... thats me gone!

Hi,

It was tried today, but after opening, and some thirty five minutes later it was abandoned as everyone in East Dulwich was heading for the half price legs of lamb. That section was cleared out in less than 20 minutes of opening. Leaving you with the alternative leg of lamb at some 10 -12 pounds more expensive. You also had to follow the sheperds directing you into another isle.

They will try the system again on Wednesday when yes you guessed it, the legs of lamb will be in stock again. It is worthy of note that if you enter the store and sing, they do try to help you to get your shopping and get you to the nearest available checkout quickly. I find it works very well when I sing 'I am a cider drinker', by the Wurzels especially if my eyes are glazed over!

Oh well, I had better go as my carer has just come in.

Kind regards,

Libra Carr.

No way to one-way shopping aisles

Sainsbury?s have denied plans to install a one-way system for shoppers on its aisles of its Dog Kennel Hill superstore ? blaming an April Fools' prank.

Rumours had been circulating across East Dulwich with dozens of locals actually looking forward to the system being introduced to reduce congestion at the end of aisles and in busy sections such as the bakery and the butchers.

Suggestions of speed bumps being installed to reduce speeding trolleys and even a congestion charge around the most sought after areas of the East Dulwich store were ruled out by Sainsbury?s.

A spokesman said: ?From Sainsbury?s point of view, there is no truth in the rumour.

?When we heard, it did seem like an exaggerated April Fools day gag.?

Hi,

I guess they gave up that idea but introduced self scan checkouts in a move to move you forward quicker. I have visited three other stores but have not seen a self checkout. I guess East Dulwich is the leader for the future brain dead customer that cannot communicate with a unresponsive cashier.... Bring back the Daleks!

Regards,

Libra Carr.

    • This is just normal business behaviour. That's why there are so many coffee shops in ED and shops selling gifts and interiors stuff, clothes, restaurants.  If there's more than one business of a similar type then it can benefit all of them up to a saturation point and keep up quality. It's all sounding like many think Chango has made a malicious move when it actually sounds like it's owned by one guy who has a good business that has done well.   Anyway this is all great advertising for both empanada places. Very close by is the organic grocer who sells really good value and very tasty samosas and other Indian snacks which are also worth trying.
    • Hello, Does this lovely little panther have a name? & Is he neutered & microchipped?
    • Well I don’t approve for a shop doing the same food to open so near - just wrong in my opinion. Why not go to the village, Peckham - foot fall would be great in Peckham and certainly more multi  cultural than ED. Village has money but doubt foot fall would be as good as ED.  At least they could have gone to the stretch leading up to Peckham Rye or why not bottom of Barry Road?? Or even North Cross Road I for one, on principal won’t be going in.
    • Heh yeah haven't even bothered to remove the emdash. The OP is AI slop as well.
