Yes! I hate it too. There was nothing wrong with the old one. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

sitting opposite a woman on the bus and she proceeded to take a very large corn on the cob out of her bag and gnash her way through it from end to end, without a care in the world, dropping bits all over herself and the bus floor. I watched in amazement longing for my supper.

People who see such behaviour and do 0 about it.

I want to know if this cob was cooked or not, was it grilled or boiled? Was it buttered? The thought of her nibbling (gnashing) on a raw 'ear' (with a nod of sympathy to certain ex heavyweight champions) makes my cheeky nibble of pizza crust whilst walking home seem a model of restraint.

I suggest keeping a download of this in your phone and playing it (sans phones) should this occur again...

She placed herself at the back of the bus where the engine gets very hot , (one could fry eggs on that, it would save stopping off at a breakfast cafe) very convenient to BBQ her cob, she had no need to turn it as the movement of the bus helped her out, when done, pricked two cob forks in either end, pulled out of her bag a corn on the cob dish, buttered said cob with "I can't believe it's not Buddha" tucked in her cloth napkin, although that had no effect, and off she went gnashing all the way to the terminus.

I don't really have a problem with passengers eating on public transport, if you're hungry or are having a diabetic hypo or hypa and have to eat, JUST EAT. The lady in question amazed me, that she had the balls to do that. (Perhaps start a thread 'Tiny Little Things That Cause Irrational Amazement'.

I would like to say I've had a few but I won't. x

I once gave somebody some chocolates and her response was "Are they organic?"

(They weren't. I nearly took them back and ate them all myself.)

:) That made me laugh..

Foxy

The big fat woman on the overground this morning who objected to anyone trying to get on "can't you see I'm here, why are you pushing? I am a human being" and then proceeded to suck her teeth (which is absolutely disgusting).

I felt like telling her there was a pregnant woman squashed in and we were trying to make room, but I doubt there would have been space in her heart for anyone other than herself.

I also felt like telling her to not travel during rush hour, be more considerate and stop huffing and puffing.

I also felt like telling her she was taking up more space than anyone else.

Geez, I must have been in a bad mood.

And so called adults, especially men, crying about the yearly leaf fall and oh so slippy pavements, and crying about banter in mens barbers, and crying about complaints from other road users after you have blocked the road for an hour. Man up.

Why do you come onto this forum, exactly?

Why do you bother reading other people's posts?

Why don't you find some "real adult" forum to post on, and leave us "so called adults" to post on this one?

It made her husband laugh too. I pulled her up on it :)

Although to be fair they were running an organic farm and felt very strongly about all things organic :)

It's not my intention to be dismissive and I can hear your frustration, but I'm feeling rather horrified by your comments about the woman's weight. Sounds like you think fat people should have less right to travel at busy times and that size makes it OK to insult someone (you may not have done it at the time but you have online). Really? What if she has health problems or medication that has made her put on weight? I don't understand why you didn't just tell her you were making room for a pregnant woman.

Exactly! Would your attitude be the same for someone who was not of a large size but chose to stand in the way? Or was it simply due to the fact that this woman was clearly of a larger size and therefore must be causing the issue right away?

If you are referring to me, which you are, I'm interested in liars and why they lie. I don't consider that particularly morbid.

Having a psychology degree, I'm also interested in what makes some people so remarkably unpleasant on forums and in real life.

Perhaps I'll start a research project. You can be my first subject. Except I don't think I could stomach it.

Calm down.., I did not realise you have an obsession with MM! it's just a coincidence.

    • It's a forum. For discussion and differing opinions.  I do not "respond constantly to everything" - another exaggeration. I post  on forum threads where I have an opinion or information to contribute, as do many others. The forum name you have chosen is interesting. I use my own name. "Head girl" ??? !!! My school would have laughed at that description 🤣
    • You are trying to cast doubt on what I have provided evidence for and I have to ask why? The rubbish wouldn't be scattered if the blue bags were collected on schedule. They are very frequently left in various places around East Dulwich.
    • Your post is confusing. You say I’ve used ‘public shame and ostracism’ that just doesn’t make sense to me.  Maybe southwark should have a similar poster thanks for referring to it.
    • The shots are mainly of Melford Road and the rubric suggests that the street cleaner bags on 'Thursdays'. The general rubbish collection is on Tuesdays. If the bags haven't been collected on Friday, but have been left for general disruption over the weekend then the bin men will see simply a rubbish strewn road with this rubbish not in any bin. They don't have time to street clean themselves so will not collect it. I reiterate that the crews I see for general rubbish collection, the 'bin men' are careful and considerate in their collections from bins, some of which are indeed very full, to overflowing. They don't collect bagged rubbish left on the street away from bins, nor have they the time or are tasked to clean the streets of scattered rubbish.
