Holy crap TLS don't talk about 'smoking' the secret service in public while BA's in town, it's bad enough making cyber kissy-face at the first lady.

Next time you get a knock at the door it may be a team of beshaded 'The Rock' lookalikes with suspicious bulges.

UNDER THEIR ARMS! Oh honestly throw her out she's making her own jokes up over there.

Sorry about that, I'm taking medication at the moment and one of the side-effects is occasional 'Frankie Howerding'.

Seriously TLS, I'd hate to see your loose mouth getting you banged up in the hoosegow.

And as for granny I'm sure her conduct with her matelot companions was beyond reproach.

You're making me feel old Loocher!...I used to watch The Rock's Grandad, Peter Maivia fight at the old Bermondsey Baths in 1968.

    • Thanks very much for that.   I think the better informed we are, the better our discussions will be. The article contained: "That arrest had quite an impact on the [phone theft] numbers for the following month,” said Green.  Here's another indicator, admittedly a piece of police PR,  of how well-targeted police efforts, mostly invisible to us,  can when successful  seriously affect offending figures: https://news.met.police.uk/news/met-police-drive-down-theft-and-robbery-by-84-percent-in-battersea-and-nine-elms-500495.
    • Another excellent article from Jim Waterson's London Centric reporting https://www.londoncentric.media/p/kitchen-foil-and-algerian-markets?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email Interesting that there seem to be favoured and repeated routes for phone snatching for particular thieves.  Seems ED might be one of them ☹️
    • Anywhere near the Overground/Windrush due to its excellent transport links.  You will get larger place in SE23 for example that will give you enough spare cash for private school if that's what you really want but states schools generally good, reflecting the demographic  Easy to get to the bustling streets of East Dulwich but in ten years see what happens to Forest Hill centre.  The whole of the area is full of green spaces. Access to East Croydon for days out in the South Coast
    • Could East Dulwich or Forest Hill work? Some properties on Underhill Road and Wood Vale have large gardens e.g.  https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/161079866#/?channel=RES_BUY  You'd be close to the Horniman, Dulwich Park and Peckham Rye. Transport might not be what you're looking for though e.g. a 15 minute walk to Forest Hill station for the East London line or mainline into London Bridge.
