You need new reading glasses, Foxy. I've not mentioned your spelling or grammar.

I was actually reading a pro-hunting forum the other day (out of interest). One of them was defending that American b-list sleb who bagged a lion in South Africa. They justified it by saying that they give the meat to poor hungry African boys and girls. You couldn't make it up.

Red Devil..

I'm staying here in Marmaris Hotel Poseidon

It was 43deg C when I was here last July. Last thing I needed was a Sauna. but there is a nice

indoor pool outside the Gym to cool down.

Did not use the Gym last year but have been training so might give it a go this time.

On the other hand I will probably just stick with swimming in the sea and my usual 5-8 mile morning walk

before it gets too hot. Gallons of water .. No beer until 08.00pm

On the other hand, news out today on the hunter that paid $350,000 to kill a rhino has completed the task. The rhino was down to be culled anyway for herd management purposes and this way Namibia's anti-poaching unit is much better funded.

Seems like a pragmatic approach to me.

Yet still the animal rights bunch are up in arms, with the sadly predictable death threats being issued by the loonier variety.

    • Let’s not all get scared of the foxes now. Most likely explanation is protecting its den or association with food. We have foxes, and cats and they are no bother to each other. The fox will leave when the cats are out.
    • I remember seeing something a few years ago on TV about a fox that was actually biting through people's shopping / takeaway food bags.  It was situated in an alleyway.  Not in London.  Very interesting in how the  urban foxes brain development has  been affected by their surroundings.   Not an exact quote from Darwin.  It's the adaptable that survive / not the strongest or the most intelligent.   I would be worried if a fox came close me.   Because they might be after my fur babies and they carry a lot of nasties.   Although they look beautiful from a distance or on a 🎄 card.
    • Driving down Lordship lane around 2.45pm today saw a v sick looking fox walking in and out of the crowd.
    • I know I'm a bit premature but don't want to forget through too much Chrisntas cheer! Southwark Council Christmas trees recycling arrangements 2025 - bit worrying for the future that they're emphasising the free bit. "We’ll collect and recycle your real Christmas tree for free!  Trees should not be taller than 5ft. You should chop any taller trees into smaller pieces. Remove all decorations and the pot or stand and recycle it by: putting your tree with your garden waste containers on collection day requesting a free collection if you do not have a garden waste collection  taking it to our Reuse and Recycling Centre [43 Devon Street, SE15 1AL open 08:30-16:30 Mon-Sun] If you live in a flat you must leave the tree: outside on the kerb visible for the collection crew not in a bin store" I'll add the link to the collection booking service when it opens on 22 December.
