Traffc lights outside ED Sainsburys are broken

Recommended Posts

I actually thought it was potentially very dangerous whilst driving there today. So many accidents happen in that area that it is quite frightening as to what may happen now ther are no working traffic lights. There aren't even any - admittedly vile - temporary traffic lights!!!

I don't understand the bus lane there. I mean, when you approach from ED station, when exactly are you allowed to pull in to turn left into Sainsburys? The only option appears to be at the last minute (i.e. about 15 yards before turning), but then you get people who just drive up it meaning you have to 'push in' and are thus waiting and obstructing traffic going straight on.

IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE AT ALL!!!!

If there's a solid white line on the bus lane you shouldn't be in that part of it during its hours of operation (and that one's 24 hours). Where there's a broken line or no line you can move into the bus lane to turn left.

Understand, but that means there are only about 15 to 20 yards to nip into the lane turning left, meaning that you're holding up all the traffic going straight on. Also, you'll find that people go up the inside lane (i.e. they break the law)and you have to cut into them. It's daft!

    • What other matters of policy would you have decided by referendum, or is it just the one you feel strongly about? It’s a ridiculous idea. We live in a representative democracy for good reason. After Brexit I thought this would be even clearer. We’ve had local elections since the LTN came in and those who introduced it were returned to office. You may want to revisit a debate that finished 3 years ago, but it isn’t going to happen. You need to move on. …still no one willing to defend the claims in One Dulwich’s latest missive I note.
    • Please describe the missing item to me, and If the description is correct I let you know where to collect it. If noone responds I will bring it to the police in the next few days.
    • Sue, not quite sure of your glowing reviews.  Next time I suggest that you order extra, PM me and I will cycle round for a tasting.  I'm a tough critic just to warn you....
    • LTN is s**t. I live on LL and the traffic, noise and air pollution has never been worst since this ridiculous vanity project was introduced. It has to go - and it will.
