Hi all,

Hoping someone might know...

1 week post-birth and was due our 3rd midwife visit today (Kings, East Team). Requested afternoon as we were busy this morning.

I've waited in all afternoon and no visit (hours are til 5pm and it's now 5.20pm)

I've not heard anything. Called and left a message but know that's unlikely to be picked up til Tues (Bank Hol on Mon)

So what now? Could someone still show today? (Not sure if they have to see everyone on their list even if late) or will someone just show up Tuesday?? Info I have doesn't mention what will happen with a no show.

The same thing happened to me and I had slipped off the radar somehow. I waited all weekend till Monday wondering if anyone would turn up. In the end I had to ring them, they were very apologetic! I would ring every number you have got. Particularly if you are worried about anything. Midwives work all the time. Someone will come and see you. Best of luck. X

Hi all,

Thanks for the replies. They called me Saturday morning and came out to me first. Apparently an admin error meant my name didn't get put in the right place on the Friday list. I did mention that there is no info given on what happens if you're forgotten. And apparently they work 365 days!

I had the helpline and other numbers if needed it was more a question of staying in (for nothing) and having no "active" way of contacting other than leaving a voicemail.

Still got a block type panel from there. The old solicitors on the corner would could be a good venue for a few indoor stalls

    • I would love something like this..I remember the one where Gails is now..It had some bric a brac furniture and 2nd hand clothes, I don't remeber the Oyster bar. The issue with the one on Zenoria St-And I speak as a long time habitué of Portobello, Kensington Market, Alfies,Spitalfields,Covent Garden (back when it had a decent vintage market on Mondays in the 80's and Early 90's) ..Was that a lot of the stuff they sold looked a bit meh..like a bad car boot fair. I also remember when we first moved here a small indoor market on the corner of North X road and Felbrigg rd that had bric a brac and bits of furniture..That one had some good stuff. I think the secret is in having a good mix of stalls selling well curated pieces at decent prices...It would also be good to have a few tables and rails available to rent for one-off sellers (car boot style) by application. When I lived in Notting Hill I used to do Portobello under the flyover a couple of times a year and made really decent money because people tended to go there on sundays for the Casual stallholders rather the same dealers selling the same stuff.
    • Highly recommend landscape gardener Jasper Davis. Jasper designed and built me a bespoke summer house.  He also transformed my garden including natural paving/sleepers and planting. Can't recommend him enough.IMG_9568.HEIC Contact Jasper on 07966 251778
