Recommendations - 3rd birthday party

I just wanted to add three recommendations for people who helped make my daughter's 3rd birthday go so brilliantly.

First, the venue - we held her party at the Lordship Pub in the upstairs function room. The space is ideal and with a small bar in the room, the parents were kept happy whilst the children played. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the food was delicious.

Second, the entertainer - we booked Joolz having read really good reviews on the forum about her. She pitched the show perfectly for the age group and had 10 children enthralled for a whole hour with bubbles, balloon animals, magic tricks and juggling. She then did over an hour of face painting, making sure everyone child who wanted their face painted didn't miss out (even though this meant her staying a bit longer than she had to). She can be contacted on [email protected] or 07963 447178.

Finally, the cake - again, having read so many recommendations on the forum for Friddles cakes, we went with one from her. Emete created an amazing Toy Story (Jessie) cake that was not only delicious but made my daughter's eyes light up the moment she saw it. Friddles cakes can be contacted on [email protected] or via her Facebook page (www.facebook.com/friddlescakes.

    • Sadly, your experience seems pretty typical to me. Estate agents must surely be a dying breed. Apart from adding your photos to Rightmove, and setting up a few appointments, what do they actually do? We sold our house last year, over £10k in estate agents fees, for appalling service, rude, patronising, as you said zero proactivity, zero feedback, I was constantly chasing. Just avoid any beginning with W, that would be my advice.
    • A friend works for Lambeth cleaning the streets, there is a team and they work round all roads in their area, clearing weeds growing between paving and edges etc, as well as the rubbish people leave. There is so much work that he usually works weekends as well. If you live around the Gypsy Hill area/ West Dul/ Tulse Hill area, you'll very likely have nice clean and tidy pavements.
    • Coming to ED in a few weeks.. where was old Barcelona or new eateries please?no time to  trawl thru whole lot..
