louisiana
I have quite a few tiles left over from building work around the place. Mostly various shades of green (3), different sizes, qualities. Plus a bunch of odds and sods samples, including some glass tiles (various green and ivory/cream), some border tiles, and B/W mosaic. Also a box of basic white ones found on the premises. Nothing that would be enough for anything in particular.I'm wondering about the best thing to do with them. Perhaps create a mural? For inside? Outside? (there's a nastly wall outside in the garden that could do with some improvement.)Any suggestions gratefully received.(My last ditch option would be to break them up for root-binding for a fig tree.) matthew123
How about you put a thin layer of cement, or perhaps a waterproof adhesive, on top of your garden wall, then smash up the tiles and then ply the wet cement with sharp edges pointing upwards. Not only will this look good when the sun shines down but also act as a deterrent to all manner of intruders..Of course if you ever lose your front door key it might not be such a great idea.. ;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6005-tile-invention/#findComment-192824 Share on other sites

matthew123
It was just a suggestion... besides that why not.. a waste of a better suggestion from yourself perhaps!?I'd not do it personally but hey some people out there put up barbed wire to keep their backyards secure... this would do the same job but look better.. NB: ...and before anyone thinks of actually doing this, best make sure it's legal Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6005-tile-invention/#findComment-192827 Share on other sites
louisiana
I've just found this blog about mosaic murals etc. Lots of great ideas.I was thinking of maybe a grotty grotto, or something with an animal theme.
