My garden is entirely enclosed by fairly high fences, I have wood chips on the flower beds and noticed a large number had been kicked all over the decking. Closer inspection led to the discovery of random objects (sweetcorn cobs and a dish cloth, presumably from someone's bin and a large hole dug under the fence from / to next door.

I cleared up the mess and filled the hole. The hole reappeared, along with more rubbish, again I filled. This time it apppeared again along with a load of old carpet!?!?!?! I have now put a tile against the fence filling the hole and packed earth hard against the tile! Seems to have done the trick last night, lets see if reinforcements are brought in tonight!

I am at a loss at what would do this and why it's so keen on my garden. Also perplexed by the starnge hoard that gets brought in and left! Any ideas anyone?

It must have been really good :-) Thought the carpet looked familiar ;-)

Its back!?!?!?!?!?!? I just looked out the window and the bark is all over the decking AGAIN!!! No idea how the gnomes/pixies/fairies/wombles/oompa loompas/squirrels or badgers have got through a roof tile!!! Will investigate further once downstairs - it's light outside, the garden should be safe! I will still ensure someone knows where I am and maybe get a friend to accompany me :-)

Wish me luck... its a dangerous place out there!

Finally a clue - now which Forumite is it again that likes to pinch other people's yellow duckies? Once you've worked that out, the culprit will be obvious.

By the way, TedMax, the trick with Wombles is not to let them get wet. It's the wet ones that turn into the bad Wombles and start hurling litter about the place and making rude gestures at the cat.

    • I completely agree with you, Angelina. But it's worth noting that no one else has a problem with her, or finds her rude /  has mentioned her aggressively banging gates / ringing doorbells etc.
    • But I don't think that was what you meant, was it? But he can hardly be held responsible for what somebody else did! Just discovered I forgot to post the above  last night, and now it's overtaken by long posts.  I don't have sufficient knowledge  to counter some of what has been said above, some of which appears to be opinion rather than facts, so it would be pointless for me to say anything else.
    • I am sure our lovely Evri delivery team, who do a firkin hard job, take the time between drops to read the East Dulwich Forum 🤫
    • For every person like OP that moans their doorbell was rung and there was a knock on the door, there's someone else moaning that they didn't hear the delivery drivers. If you've ever done delivery work you'll know that loads of people's bells don't work. The delivery drivers probably goes to a hundred doors a day: press bell, knock door, drop package, move on. If you don't like delivery drivers, insist on delivery by Royal Mail where the workers have wages and a union - or just stop ordering shit online that's artificially cheap. But most of us (me included) don't want that
