Hi there. We need someone to come and remove a large Hazlenut stump with very deep roots from our garden. It's holding up some works we are having done so we would like it done sooner rather than later. The company we contacted can not come until July, which is too late for us. Any recommendations or anyone who can do this sooner? Many thanks!
Hey, there is a very good Tree Surgery company in London you can contact. They have very reasonable prices and they do a great work. Not sure if I'm allowed to recommend links, but if not the moderators will remove it. http://www.tree-surgery-london.co.uk/ this is their website. And if you'd like to call them directly - this is their phonenumber: 020 3404 3305 . Hope this info is useful to you. :) Cheers!
Hi Sue is right, removing a tree stump doesn't take any real skill, just hard graft or a stump-grinder. I had a tree stump I wanted removed in the back and ended up doing it myself with a maul and diamond splitter set from Screwfix. Back-breaking work but also very satisfying! My stump wasn't huge though.

TW say that they have not made any dividend payments to external shareholders (among them a Candian teachers pension fund) since 2017.    There have been like payments, though, to their holding companies (?Kemble, and Thames ?something), reportedly I think to service debts to them. Thames Water annual company reports are available online.  Ofwat have also published about leakage.
    • I was talking to my brother in the law last weekend who works for a different water company. He said he and his colleagues watch TW’s woes with a mixed of horror, disbelief and then relief that they work for a different water company. Worth a watch. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m00284vt
