ever seen anyone wearing the stuff you gave to the charity shop ?

Recommended Posts

I saw a mum at the school wearing a jumper that i had sent in for the sale.

When i first saw her wearing it i thought what a lovely colour, then i realised that it used to be mine. It looked great on her much better than it did on me.

Yes KK it was about 10 years ago me and missus Mikecg went through the wardrobes and threw out what was old and not even good enough for the charity shop. next thing we know a neighbour was wearing the coat and skirt we threw out. they were in bin bags and I had the task of dumping them in the wheelie bin. I tried not to say anything but all I could say was "look that trogs wearing your cloths we threw in the bin", I received an elbow to the ribbs but I could'nt stop laughing.

It could have been worse AFN, he might not have had them cleaned.

Oh, I'm assuming you mean 'pulled' in the sense of 'met on a social occaision/evening and through lively drink-fuelled conversation and mutual attraction we decided we should be 'together' in a way and immediacy that I wouldn't necessarily share with my mother'.

As opposed to..., I'm going to draw someone else's veil over this now.

    • Portable ramps are available for businesses to use in this sort of situation, aren't they? I don't know whether one would be suitable for use here, or whether they have the space to store one. Lots of people have  permanent or temporary disabilities which mean they have to use crutches or a wheelchair.
    • I can’t remember where I read that figure but this article in the Grauniad from 2023 discusses Ocado results from 2022. The average shopping cart fell to £118 from £129 the previous year. But Ocado lost £500m that year on approximately 20 million orders (circa 400k orders per week). So, averaging out to £25 lost per order. Ocado pauses building new warehouses as annual losses balloon to £500m | Ocado | The Guardian  Obviously, the £500m loss includes various factors. But Ocado has existed for 25 years and only made a small profit in a couple of those years. The rest have been huge losses. Yet it continues to raise funds and speculation sends the share price up and down. In that respect,  it’s like the UK version of Tesla. Meanwhile, the main growth in the supermarket sector has been for Aldi and Lidl, who do not deliver.
