Our neighbours are getting work done and the builders seem to be appearing and doing things in our garden willy nilly.

is this customary in these parts? we weren't given any heads up either way.

can't get hold of the neighbours sadly. I think they're in hiatus whilst the work takes place.

we rent at the mo. I think that in this instance - it's just a case of a communication breakdown.

would be interested to understand whether anyone on here had experienced anything similar and how these things would generally be approached.

I'd speak to your Landlord/letting agent and inform them of what is happening and ask them what you should do...

Talk to the guys, no need to get heavy just ask them what they're up to and will they pls leave your garden in condition they found it - or ask them to keep to garden they're fixing if that what you want.

Is it absolutely essential they be in your garden?

I don't mean that in a "g'roff my land" way only they may have no other way to get to the areas needed. OR they may not think they're doing any harm... *shrugs*

I think the access is necessary, it's just been done in a discourteous way. we shall see what the powers that be say. I would think that you'd need some sort of planning consent to do this.

The are taking the Pee !! I had a development at the bottom of the garden, they wanted commandier/ruin to several foot of my garden to erect scaffold, told them NO, they have no right to be in my garden and that was that.

conclusion in this instance was a lack of communication / courtesy from the neighbours. very naughty.
