Peggym
Hiya random request but does anyone have any old towels or sheets they would be willing to give away or sell to me for as little as possible ? I'm planning a home birth but having moved back to the country I have none of these to use myself. Would rather not buy new considering they will probably have to be disposed of afterwards. Condition doesn't matter. Thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/62797-home-birth-help-old-towelssheets-wanted/ Share on other sites

Redmeghan
I had a home birth 18 months ago and am planning another in 7 weeks time - it was far less messy than anticipated! And towels that were used came out clean - though we did opt for the darker coloured ones in our motley collection! Know that's not the help you need but good to know!Have a great birth! ana maria
I had dozens of bed mats and towels of all sizes and ended up using 1 towel that went in the wash afterwards and a handful of mats. If you don't find the towels here you can always buy them in the charity shops. Best of luck xx Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/62797-home-birth-help-old-towelssheets-wanted/#findComment-861477 Share on other sites
Mantlebees
Hi Peggy, great to hear you are planning a home birth! I agree with Redmeghan - for my first home birth I borrowed a huge pile of old towels and ended up not really using any, certainly none were ruined anyway. I also covered the floor with industrial type plastic sheeting, which was totally unnecessary too! For my second home birth I just bought a couple of shower curtains from the pound shop to protect the floor and sofa, and used my regular towels, all of which were totally fine after a wash. It really isn't as messy as you might think!Good luck!
