Dulwich Park used to open very early, on a Saturday at least, at its main entrance. But recently when heading there for my Saturday long run I've found the damn thing still shut at around 7am. Depends where you live, but you might want to head to the Rye if you're out early. Or Burgess Park which is open 24 hrs.
Officially they dont open till 8 .We have the same problem with Peckham Rye park but we can find a way in. I dont think thats so easy at Dulwich . I would opt for running around the Rye there are quite a few runners around at that time , thats if you can get to it easily enough.

There's literally acres of Peckham Rye that can't be locked as there's no fence around it, surely.

You could sleep there if you really wanted.

(!?)

Are they not the same park, albeit with a short, jump-overable fence around the former?

Or are you scared of the north end or something?

I have seen many people with their dogs, climb over the fence , doggy under the arm of an early morning in Dulwich park! They always find a way to get in! I wonder what the wardens say when they seem them walking their dogs in the park after they have opened up?!That is the Dulwich Library end!

Spoke to wardens in the parkon Saturday and it can be as late as 9.30 depends how many on duty as they have to travel between them all so some have to be early while others get locked late, but its the gardening staff that open up.

It's fairly simple to get through via Fireman's Alley.

Are you on glue? the locked bit of Peckham Rye contains a Japanese garden and some shrubs.

The unlocked bit contains acres of grass, suitable for picnics and running.

    • The problem with delivery people nowadays is that they are on such a restrictive schedule that they literally have to just try to deliver and run, otherwise they are penalised. I understand the frustration though.   And good luck making any kind of complaint to Evri. I once sold a laptop on ebay, took it to the Evri pick-up, where it was processed and it then went 'missing' between their pick-up place and the hub. Went through a long, long process where they offered me a desultory amount in compensation and I had to take them to small claims court before they came up with a fair offer the day before we were due to be in court. Long story short, Evri are shite.   Go to look at this forum for the number of people who have issues: https://nationalconsumerservice.co.uk/forum/183-postal-and-delivery-services/
