  1. Just wanted to fourth Domali for future reference. Only been the once but it was really great - had a good atmosphere, reminded me of my native Melbourne. E
  2. Just to jump on this thread, does anyone know what time the Rye park is closing this week? I fancy me a picnic there tonight. Thanks E
  3. Have a lovely break Barry and well done for doing such a great job and engaging in a real way with the people who use your service. E
  4. pablopuncheur Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I do send alot of parcels and sending them by > UPS/DHL etc is prohibitively expensive. Just in case you aren't aware, you can arrange for regular collection by Royal Mail. Not sure what 'a lot' is in terms of volume, but might be worth your while but still cheaper than a courier company. E
  5. SMBS also has the pheromone traps at the back of the store (usually up above the toiletries).
  6. charliecharlie I had the same thing happen - they just kept sending them last year. E
  7. The Luddite is fantastic and definites hits its stride after being left to breathe for a while. I also recommend the Radford Dale if you're after something less pricey and not quote as strong (but still full-bodied and flavoursome), and the Massaya is good too. E
  8. Ah good news, I replaced a bulb as I thought it was that, but I guess not. E
  9. I had someone knock on my door this afternoon and flash me a badge from Energy Sure. I instantly said 'no I'm not interested' and closed the door, but upon visiting their website, I can see that they're apparently aiming to get a better deal for energy consumers and have set up a selling code of conduct and the like. I guess it's rather telling that energy companies have such a bad doorstep-selling approach that I instantly wanted to get rid of him, assuming it was just another in the long line of sellers. E
  10. Ooh you're right. A friend who lives in Nth London posted the picture on facebook so I assumed it was near her. How nice that it was local! E
  11. That last one is in the middle of the road. I wonder who finally ran it down?! I thought this one in Nth London was pretty impressive: http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2199/245/35/535856723/n535856723_1437204_6067.jpg E
  12. Thanks Fearn, not sure if it was that but seems to be back to normal now, so hopefully it will stay that way. E
  13. Just noticed that my water supply is suddenly very low on pressure, so there's almost none coming out. Does anyone know if there's work going on in the vicinity of Ulverscroft/North Cross Rds? Thought I'd check and give it an hour or two before phoning Thames Water. E
  14. giggirl I believe you mean this one: No More Bush Absolutely inspired piece of marketing I think :) E
  15. Teh instead of the is really common. I do it and I have a good typing speed with plenty of experience. It's just one of those weird things that's really common and probably something to do with your fingers not quite being able to keep up with your brain. But Tony, I assure you, it is just a very common typo. E
  16. You don't have to have a litter tray just because your cats are in at night. My former cats stayed in at night, and just went out into the garden in the morning. When we moved and they didn't have access to a garden, they took to the litter tray fine, but when we moved again and they could get to the garden, they went straight back to that without a problem. E
  17. I'm hoping to come along to this one. It'll be my first EDF drinks, so be gentle with me ;) E
  18. I think they have four or five rooms, some are en-suite, but if not, the communal bathroom is large and clean and close by. In June when my parents stayed there it was ?60 a night for a double with en-suite (room only, no brekkie) if memory serves, and the room was a good size, clean and comfortable. The new manager, who's name now escapes me, is also really friendly and the staff were helpful. E
  19. You're right Sue, sometimes it's nice to just jump on, sit down and not have to move til you reach your own stop (esp if you've been out for the night and your feet are sore!). An announcement when the end of the route had been reached would definitely have been in order, but a little sit in Foyles sounds the perfect response :) E
  20. The way I tend to favour to get into the West End is by catching the 185 to Oval tube station for the Northern line (to Leicester Sq or Goodge St or what-have-you with a quick change across the platform at Kennington), or continue on the bus for Vauxhall tube station for the Victoria line (to get to Oxford Circus). The bus route from Camberwell Green to Oval is usually much faster that going up Walworth Rd towards Waterloo, and if I'm at a bus stop on LL I'll catch whichever bus comes first and change at Camberwell Green as all the buses that go up Camberwell Rd stop at Oval and Vauxhall stations (the 436, 36 and 185). The advantage is also that I can use my Oyster, unlike getting the train in (though I will do that if I need to get somewhere on the Jubilee line). Bring on Oyster pay-as-you-go on the overland! Annie, there was definitely a sign on the bus stop outside the post office on LL in the last week or so, but I can imagine that if one was rushing to jump on the bus as it was arriving, it could be missed. I think the reason signs aren't put in the buses themselves, which would be handy, as would a route map, is that buses are used for various routes and probably not always the same ones. E
