Football season has been disastrous, thus far, though I have not lost a penny.

Tuned in to Fulham/Vesta (sp) t'other night at 1/0 with 12 mins left and went to back over 2.5 Goals at, I assume, 7/1+ and Fulham scored as I was accessing my Betfair a/c. Then they scored again.

Then heard on Sat. Morning mention of Boro/Sheff Utd and thought "Bore Draw" and b4 I could think about backing "Draw/Draw" and 0/0-I discovered it was.

Out yesterday morning so was going to do Draw/Southampton and Draw/Draw in the Saints/Millwall match.

Not only did it come in but you could lay Saints short after backing them at 9/2 ( Draw/Saints).

To complete a "Foursome" predicted WBA/Draw and Newcastle/Draw both at 16/1 .

So thats a 7/1 followed by 11/1 followed by a 4/1 ( Millwall-Draw/Draw) followed by a 16/1 and not on any of them as I was out.( apart from Fulham/Vesta which I missed by seconds......:X

I have backed

Championship: Ipswich (backing Keane to succeed) and Cardiff (Dave Jones a good manager)

Lge 1 : Colchester (Paul Lambert a former Celt starting off on the managerial ladder gets off to good start with 7-1 win)

Premiership - very difficult to call - any of the top 4 could win it. Think Arshavin could be the new best foreign player for Arsenal. Chelsea not sure what Anciolotti will achieve, too risky to bet on them (as with Scolari). MU will miss Ronaldo and don't think Owen will make up for that, Liverpool can win if they can keep up their form from last thinrd of last season when they were more attacking.

With all these uncertainties it seems its best to wait until a few ganes in to see how they start.

Scotland - the odds on Celtic are too short but believe they have better players than Rangers and Mowbray will hopefully get better from them than GS. 1.8 a bit short though unless betting big.

Tiger went 5 under for the front nine to move from -7 to -12 to take a 2 shot lead but Paddy has hung in there and is back in the lead:

Paddy -11 Woods -10

Paddy's the only golfer who can handle Tiger on the final round.

Have had a small hedge on Tiger now that his odds are lengthening but its Harrington for the big win.

I have ?20 on Mastercrafsman in case sea the stars does not run or does not like the ground - also he has to lose eventually.

I'm def not in profit for last 3 months Quids. A pretty big dent in my annual profit - I have been keeping my records from the USPGA last year. Despite winning ?330 on MU i am still down for the last few months.

Pleased with the golf Harrington has had a fantastic 16 holes has closed to one behind Woods. Looks like they will be out together tomorrow and Harrington likes to play with Tiger. Have 30 on Padraig at 16s so may be seeking Quids advice on how to maximise my opportunities tomoz.

Not yet Quids. The trouble is I think Harringtons odds are too generous and I don't want to offer those odds. And with the possibility of winning close to ?500, taking 30 or 120 feels like giving an opportunity away. (I'm predictable as always).

I hope they will come together at some point - if they do I'll back Tiger - he may be about 1.7 then. That way a ?50 bet on Tiger will cover my stake with a Tiger win and all upside on Harrington then.

Of course if Tiger makes the best start then he will probably go on to win and I won't have hedged, so I'm hoping Padraig out ahead of Tiger will make an early birdie. Of course I'm assuming its between Padraig and Tiger, I'm ignoring the others.

I also have ?20 on Rory at 66/1 but it seems his chance has gone now.

That useless besterd Micky Owen would have got my United money back as I laid "Under 1.5 Goals" at very short odds.

I only needed a "0/0" until the 40th Minute and I would have been o.k.

Still, on the bright side I got it all back by Laying Liverpool @ 5/4 and I backed "Time of 1st Goal-41/50 Minutes" which, of course, it was....so no harm done Guys..,,:-$

Actually the United result was fairly predictable Quids.

Did enough to win but haven't the potency of recent years but enough to beat the likes of Brum.

Brum likely not to score so low-scoring United win about right.

I did Draw/Unitedbut laid them @ 1.25 i.e. odds of 1/4.

Liverpool at 5/4 looked a big lay but due to being well down, overall, on the day at the start of the match I could not get as involved as much as I would like.

    • What was he doing on the stage at Glastonbury? Or on the stage at the other concert in Finsbury Park? Grinning like a Cheshire cat whilst pissed and stoned 20 somethings on the promise of free internet sung-- Oh Jeremy Corbyn---  What were his policies for Northern mining towns with no jobs or infrastructure? Free Internet and university places for youngsters. What were his other manifesto pledges? Why all the ambiguity over Brexit?  I didn't like Thatcher, Blair or May or Tony but I respected them as politicians because they stood by what they believed in. I respect all politicians across the board that stick to their principles. Corbyn didn't and its why he got  annihilated at the polls. A socialist, anti imperialist and anti capitalist that said he voted for an imperialist and pro capitalist cabal. He refused to say how he'd vote over and over again until the last knockings. He did so to appease the Islington elite and middle class students he was courting. The same people that were screaming that Brexit was racist. At the same time the EU were holding black and Asian immigrants in refugee camps overseas but not a word on that! Corbyn created and courted a student union protest movement that screamed at and shouted down anyone not on the left . They claimed Starmer and the centre right of labour were tories. He didn't get elected  because he, his movement and policies were unelectable, twice. He turned out not to have the convictions of his politics and died on his own sword.    Reform won't win an election. All the idiots that voted for them to keep out Labour actually enabled Labour. They'll be back voting tory next time.    Farage wouldn't be able to make his millions if he was in power. He's a very devious shyster but I very much doubt he'd actually want the responsibility that governance requires.
    • The purge of hard left members that were part of Corbyn's, Mcdonnel's and Lansmans momentum that purged the party of right wing and centrist members. That's politics. It's what Blair did to win, its what Starmer had to do to win. This country doesn't vote in extreme left or right governments. That's partly why Corbyn lost  We're pretty much a centrist bunch.  It doesn't make it false either. It's an opinion based on the voting patterns, demography and statistics. Can you explain then why former mining constituencies that despise the tories voted for them or abstained rather than vote for Corbyns Labour?  What is the truth then? But he never got elected!!! Why? He should have been binned off there and then. Why he was allowed to hang about is an outrage. I hold him party responsible for the shit show that we've had to endure since.
    • Depends on what the Barista says doesnt it? There was no physical confrontation with the driver, OP thinks she is being targetted when she isnt. These guys work min wage under strict schedules so give them a break unless they damage your stuff
    • CPR Dave, attendance records are available on Southwark's website. Maggie Browning has attended 100% of meetings. Jon Hartley has attended 65%.
