Louisa
The Irish Festival is one of the few local events I cannot find fault with, loved it for years now and well done to everyone involved for yet another fun packed day for everyone. If I have one minor annoyance it would be the fact that the rubbish isnt cleared off the rye, broken glass bottles, people using the doggy bins to put other rubbish in (and then coming on here moaning when dog owners dont do a s*it pick etc), but overall excellent.Louisa. Mick Mac
If I had known it was on, I'd have gone...I'm sure my English wife and English children (apparently) kept this from me. SteveT
I remember one of the guys we employed going to an Irish festival in Edgeware Rd many years ago, there were estimated to be two hundred thousand visitors and just one policeman, he was a bit drunk mind, but he had a great time. Rowanofski
Population of Ireland: 5,981,448Global Irish Population: 80,000,000These statistics always crack me up. Everyone wants to be Irish I suppose. I went along with my own genuine Irish beauty to this and can mostly echo everyone else's praise. My highlights included seeing a 60-something lady so drunk she had to be reluctantly carried home by her grown up kids and the PA telling people to leave the public parkI remain less convinced as to the new breed of Irish dancing which apparently involves latex bodysuits and arabic-style flouncing and body caressing! Apparently, if you add a fiddle, you're grand, so. It was most entertaing to watch the old Irish gents with their jaws dropping at such spectacles though.Any chance of getting better burger/ice cream vans next year? Both were crazily overpriced and rubbish. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6924-irish-festival/#findComment-223367 Share on other sites

silverfox
I go every year and always find it a bit of a shoddy afair with tatty stalls and very litle effort. SteveT
You are too sensitive Sean, it's a great day out!Although I'm not Irish my buddies are Irish and Scots and I have always felt a warmth towards the Irish ever since I first went there in the 70's.
