BBW, you forgot the 'poverty and knife-crime' chipolata. A perennial Nunhead favourite.

How could I forget Horsebox.

The 'poverty and knife crime' chipolata has a bitter taste to it which makes it stand out as a bit of an under achiever taste wise but the most conspicuous quality to this particular banger is it's sharp aroma that some connoisseurs may find an intimidating prospect.

All in all, it's rather confrontational on the palette.

The type that has veins and a salty after taste. I believe the recipe originates in the french town Boloin or somwwhere like that.

    • One time Sainsbury's delivered 6 bags of apples instead of 6 single apples which I couldn't possibly get through. I phoned Pecan in Peckham to ask if they would accept them despite their website stating no fresh foods. I must have phoned at just the right time as they were happy to accept them. Sainsburys gave me a refund so the donation was courtesy of them. Or you could experiment with all kinds of apple recipes and write a blog about it
    • There's a food bank off Dog Kennel Hill. Albrighton Community Fridge. https://www.albrightoncommunityfridge.org/ I'm sure they would welcome them, but maybe check first? Drop off seven days a week 9 - 5. Be warned if you are going by car, parking can be very difficult, easiest if there are two of you so one person can take the food in while the other can move the car if necessary.
    • Food banks for sure and what about approaching these schools in area that run summer camps - although having said that with health and safety being so strict might not allow it - crazy really.    Can’t remember name of church but was one in Peckham that from memory did a community meal a couple of times a week. Now they for sure would take them and probably Kingswood House as well.
