You could save save ???? on pints of beer in the pub by simply getting drunk at home, on your own

Thought about it often but I don't think you would use the same pub as me.

Everyone has a valid point - but there is little appreciation of that.

There is a difference between laptop squatters - which is not restricted to ED - who use cafes are a place of work, making calls and basically moving in and treating it like a temporary office and people who need a break and a change of scene.

similarly, parents who go out with their kids - who behave like kids (and not mini adults) and parents who completely ignore their kids and allow their behaviour to go unchecked.

We should all be able to tolerate and welcome our neighbours but unsocial behaviour can be annoying.

At the end of the day - is it your cafe? if not, decide if you don't want to go there anymore. you could possibly mention your reasons to the owner....

Otherwise, let's all just get on with our day.

And, while we're on the topic of knotweed - how do i get the railway company to deal with the infestation on their side of the fence?

Make sure you change your wifi password every half an hour, should get rid of most of them, whichever side of the fence.

I like this very polite notice I saw recently:

On the next table, a man wrapped up like an Arctic explorer, working on his laptop. (It was a bit chilly in there.)

    • The programme was brilliant and makes me wary now of sea paddling as so many areas affected. My daughter was working at a bank when privatisation of utility companies were floated. Bank advised its staff that only x number of shares could be purchased by individuals as Government rules at that time. She reported that certain people were seeking double and triple shares. Bank told her to ignore the guidelines as those customers had thousands of pounds in the bank. She was so disgusted at the banks attitude she handed in her notice, She decided that the financial world was too corrupt. Two degrees later - she now works in the NHS as an OT in mental health unit.

    • Petition Urge Israeli Government to stop law allowing execution of Palestinian prisoners The UK Government must act urgently to urge the Israeli Government to stop the proposed law which would permit the execution of Palestinian Prisoners, past, present and future. More details We believe that such a law would constitute complete violation of the Geneva Convention and International Human Rights Law. UN experts have called for these proposals to be dropped. We call on the UK Government apply considerable and substantial political pressure and the leverage of its international obligations to prevent the Israeli Government from passing this law.
