This. Soundcloud is conventionally a service for those at the "grassroots" level of music, whereas Spotify is more geared towards the relatively mainstream.

I don't really understand their point. Surely artists decide to put their music on soundcloud or not, and choose whether or not it's for public consumption, and whether or not people can download it.

So what are PRS suggesting that Soundcloud should be doing differently?

Was directed at the 'soundcloud is for grass roots artists' comment.

    • I hope witnesses are phoning 999 to report a crime in progress.
    • Under Section 3 of Criminal Law Act 1967 ANY PERSON may use such force as necessary in the prevention of crime or assisting in the arrest of offenders or suspected offenders. Key message is the force used must be proportionate.  Sadly many of these offenders carry knives (such as the two who stabbed people in Bishopsgate when bystanders intervened. The offenders were subsequently tracked down but it might have been a murder enquiry but for a few millimetres.) Therefore robust action should only be taken if you are confident. As per the previous post, your actions will be scrutinised but could be completely lawful.
    • And at about 8 I saw a phone being snatched on Grove Vale-as well as horrible for the victim it was incredibly dangerous.  Bike rider rode along pavement at high speed and then continued on to cut into road in equally dangerous manner
    • Leon is a fantastic electrician. He's recently done a couple of jobs for us during a renovation. He's done them brilliantly. The standard of the work is exceptional - we've had some other electricians in who haven't done anywhere near as great a job. Also, he's brilliant at communicating about the job at hand in a clear and concise way. Would highly recommend!
