Dalsouple rubber flooring - help

Hi All,

We are looking at having some rubber flooring installed in our basement. We have narrowed it down to the Dalsouple rubber tiles but then someone told me they had some issues with the sealant that was laid on it making it very dusty and slippery. Has anyone had that experience using Dalsouple rubber tiles too?

Thank you for any knowledge you may have

Maria

I've speced it on many jobs in the past

It's used extensively by the NHS and local authorities

Being pure rubber it's static free pretty much, so dust won't be an issue if the building is dust free

Just make sure the sealant type and guidelines are adhered to fastidiously, it performs well after that

Lastly, The Tate at St Ives has this down in many spaces

I'd advise you go for the smooth finish

Dalsouple is a very good product but it is pricey, especially for a laundry room and 'other stuff'. I once bought some rubber floor tiles for a Utilty room from this company, including the sealant, although with the studded tiles you are supposed to get anti-slip qualities... http://www.rubberflooringco.co.uk/product/Rubber-Tiles

Expect to get dust as it's a laundry room, but it will tend to gather away from where you walk, i.e. corners, along skirtings, nothing a quick hoover up can't remedy...

We have tiles from the rubber floor company, but assume issues are the same with Dalsouple.

We have studs, but I wouldnt expect smooth to be slippy. I can just about do a skid in my socks, but never have any worries with slipping, probably less slippy than lino/similar.

I think I understand the point about being "dusty": after polishing the rubber has a really nice shine to it, which it loses pretty quickly so looks slightly dull and "dusty" (but isnt actual dust). We dont think it's a problem, but it does look nicer when it gets its irregular polish.

    • interesting the police said "the car was in demand at the moment" what make/model is that?
    • Just be careful to know exactly what they cover and the limits. i use Many Pets and Medivet, as I think one of the vets is exceptionally good. Some of the NHV are, but I’ve had a couple I’ve not liked at all.  I need consistency and to feel that they actually care more about the animals than the money.
    • I haven't used them myself but I noticed recently that "Snoots" in Forest Hill is going unlimited primary care for £33/month, so basically a subscription. Easy access on the 176 from East Dulwich. I have no idea what it includes so read the contract! It's a chain but only 5 branches so not a mega corporate. 🤷‍♂️ https://www.snootsvet.com/find-us
