We were in the rye during the middle of it. Helicopter circling overhead and a load of motorbikes whizzing right through middle of the rye (little path leading down from Japanese garden and round the nice bit with the flowers near the entrance...). Motorbikes then went right over big grassy bit and on towards Nunhead....

Didn't see the motorbikes - just the atmosphere on the street

late last night. Didn't the gangs always use push bikes :)

These sound like the same group of 30 to 40 Bike & Quad riders who surrounded me whilst driving down Lordship lane from Hornimans to the Barry road lights on Saturday at about 5pm. They were riding everywhere. On the pavements and on both sides of the road. Doing rear wheelies and revving like mad. It was pretty hairy being amongst them. At least half of them were wearing jackets with "Bike Life TV" on the back. I was so glad when they turned off into Barry Road.

    • @NewWave I know how you feel. Like you, I've lived and spent prolonged periods of time in some pretty crazy places and always thought I could handle a bunch of kids. But, no - they got to me and I was shaking like a leaf afterwards. That's what age does to us.  But I did engage with them, so bear that in mind.  My advice would be to never let anything like that stop you doing the things you love. I'm certainly not going to stop using the park, there's no way they get to take away our cherished spaces!  If you see them, just change tack and keep out of their way. My dog won't even go that way again, so that's that problem solved. (If I see them again, I'm going to keep taking photos from a safe distance).
    • Truly horrific. Being passive or fighting back is what many of us think about by violent theft.
    • What ridiculous waste of money
    • Lots of good primary schools within reach of there. Fairlawn, Goodrich, Ivydale and Horiman. Secondary schools you will definitely get into the Harris Academies or Sydenham Girls or Forest Hill Boys, you might just be on the boundary for the East Dulwich or North Dulwich Charter but it changes every year.
