What if my teeth are in a jar beside my bed in the morning? Are you serious?

I have tried this bizarre one when my child picked one up swimming and it does work:

for a verucca, cut an inch square of banana skin, place it inner side down on affected spot, tape in position and put on sock. Do this overnight for 2/3 nights and it disappears.

That's interesting. I once read that Madonna used wee wee on her feet to get rid of athletes foot. That reminds me I had a friend who used to drink it. Can't remember why though. He seemed to think it did him some good.

Reclan for a sty the best thing is a good rest. You should prob take a few long lie ins at your ungrateful employers expense and get yourself right also a trip to the opticians might be a good idea as sounds like your eyes are tired.no wives tales there I'm afraid. I did once have a growth on my finger when a lad and a seventh son of a seventh son fron derry wiped an old Copper 2p on it and it was gone a couple of days later which amazed me as I felt it had been there for a year. .

Your TONGUE love (deaf is she.....)scrape y'tongue....can't keep the in glass with your "Staradent" can you?

Feck Declan what a picture that conjures up, you no teeth & your tongue in a jar & with a stye on your eye.

You sound like a real catch you do......yeah!

Do you have a prosetic limb for a full house?

Tansy as a compress is good for sties, you can also apply castor oil, put some on a piece of cotton wool then wipe over your eye before going to sleep, dont worry about it going into your eyes, it did used to be prescribed and the last time I looked it was still in the BFN (British national formula, docs book. I have used this many times and it works even when people sceptical.
The golden eye ointment reetpetite has mentioned, I think is golden seal, another brilliant herb which has amazing healing properties, but expensive. Also euphrasia, commonly called eyebright. With it being near your eye I would not recommend my dads cure of tying thread around skin tags which then fall of, then seemingly if you bury it, it wont come back.

Where can one buy castor oil Antijen?

I'm not sure too many of these sound sensible.

A stye (not stie) is a blocked eyelid oil gland that has become infected.

Rubbing anything into it that is likely increase the blockage or spread the infection is ill-advised.

In extreme cases antibiotics applied topically or by pill may be necessary.

Usually they should go within a week, and can be eased using a warm damp facecloth pressed against it a few times a day - it'll ease the blockage.

Lancing it or squeezing it yourself may increase the infection (think of zits that you've poked at too much), and is very risky in this area.

If it's not gone in a week, then see someone professional.

I used to use Golden Eye Ointment years ago; it got rid of conjunctivitis.

Now I use a little bicarbonate of soda in filtered water and use that to rinse my eyes.

I had some fungal infection under my nail once and used to pour a drip of tea tree oil down it every night, and it went after a month. It probably would not have done otherwise!

Meanwhile to fight off hay fever, eating honey from local bee hives works.

    • Two wrongs don't make a right. Labour ran on a manifesto of "we aren't like them" and "we are different" and"you can trust us/we will restore faith in politics". They are doing nothing to convince anyone that any of those promises are being met - they are letting everyone down. u-turning on everything and are fast-tracking the doomsday scenario of a Reform government. Even the runway on the "it's all the Tories fault" is running out. I dislike politicians because they cannot be trusted and Rayner just highlighted that with ribbons on. She should have been so careful after the focus on the electoral roll issues she had with the house in Ashton-under-Lyne and then under a year later this comes up. Clearly the advice she took included a recommendation to take proper advice that she failed to do - that's just daft and the most galling thing is that she didn't just resign when this came up - she tried to spin out of it but must have known she was toast. Trust is fast being eroded. I desperately want Labour and Starmer to fix this because the alternative it too scary to think about but the way things are going they are fast-tracking Farage into No.10. Labour are letting us all down.
    • Same can be said for the current and prior governments
    • Good afternoon, We are looking for a gardener to tidy up our climbing rose. It is very high, so the work will require someone with a tall ladder. can you please recommend anyone?  thanks s
    • So you are also old enough to remember the Heath Out protest by the TUC when unemployment hit 1 million? We all have selective memories, this thread is no different. Please give me a list of the Labour sleaze. And compare it to the Tories.  There are a few of you who appear to have a long term dislike of Labour, so all this is a gift.
