Keef
Is this possible? Would save people having to ask for it, and getting accused of having a hissy fit, or flouncing off. Is it possible with the software to have an option in the control centre to close your account, and ideally, have all posts removed? Administrator Administrator Posted August 5, 2009 Administrator Share Posted August 5, 2009 The new version of the software does give you the option to close your account and we are hopefully upgrading the software in the next couple of months. However it does not delete the users' messages. There have only been about six requests to close accounts in the last three years so that feature is not on the high priority list. Keef
That's fair enough, although if all the people who've drifted away over time, had had the option, it may have been substantially higher than 6. Not sure I see the point now though, if all the posts stay on the board. Is there no way, other than one by one, these can be removed? If people don't want their messages to be seen, don't post in the first place, I say! Huguenot
Absolutely Fuschia.Keef, you can't just go and 'remove' half the comments in a conversation. If people want to close then fine, but this Stalin'esque deletion doesn't work for anyone. Administrator Administrator Posted March 9, 2010 Administrator Share Posted March 9, 2010 I was being serious, if someone is looking for an option, cannot find it and then asks where it is then I assume it because they wish to use it. ruffers
Not sure why this (close account) is needed - you stop posting, you stop looking, you're gone. It's not like there's a big announcement when an account is closed so what's the benefit?
