The the online stuff misses out most of the things at Dulwich.. they have a handout in the library itself atm.. i must look for my copy!!

Advice don't trust the Southwark Holiday timetable for children.

Last week I went to both Kingswood Library and Dulwich Library which had advertised rhyme time and story telling on Thursday morning. Neither of these are operating over the summer school holidays despite being in the holiday timetable.

This has certainly put me off relying on any other of the stated activities.......a pointless publication by southwark !

I have found to get into any event at the Libraries - you have to get in fast. When I looked after my grandaughter- I tried to attend the Dulwich Library events as they are just over the road to me. Most things get booked up in less than 24 hours of being advertised - in the 3/4 years cared for grandaughter in holiday times, never managed to get into a single event.

    • I have never used AI in my life. It's just notes from my forthcoming monograph on light industry in Dulwich and Camberwell 1879-1946 (dates chosen for obvious reasons).
    • Thank you, this really made me chuckle. It's like you met my brother as he would be the one taking more than his share. Plus the 'pikey' chutney is a winner. Unusual as in can't be identified??? Sadly I'm not the host otherwise I would definitely do that I regularly shop in the Cheese Block and am a fan. But as people have pointed out, there is no cheese shop that charges less based on bulk, so Aldi unusual cheeses may be what the familam receive! Yay, so I can get discounted mouse nibbled cheese still! Oooo, now I do love a Stinking Bishop. It actually offends my stepmum by it's stinkiness but luckily she is not one of the attendees at this particular gathering.  This is blooming genius. It's actually my partner who has the biggest issue with buying in plastic so I will have to hide the wrappers from him!
    • I like the look of SD's Sweet and Sour chicken. It's a really good dish when made freshly and well. I'll need to try it. Sad that Oriental Star and Lucky House by Dulwich Library both closed at a similarish time. They were decent, reliable, "British Chinese" takeaways.
