I have been here 10 years (north end of Hindmans/Tyrrel Road), its a lovely place to live, calm but varied. Never had any late night trouble at all and it feels safe (though some roads would benefit from better street lighting I suspect). Have had the usual periodic bike thefts but no car vandalism or break-ins. Clockhouse is an OK pub, Rye Hotal is nice too, likewise Gowlett and does great pizzas but service can be crap, the Rye is great and never feels too packed and now has a cafe. You are better placed for Peckham Rye station which gives you more transport choices than ED but is not always a pleasant travel experience, the 63 and 12 buses are amongst the best in the area. If you work in town though it is generally an hour journey in rushhour whether bus or train (unless you happen to work right next to Ldn Bridge or Blackfriars). This drove me mad after a couple of years and I now try to cycle as much as possible. The other downside is that you are more of a treck to Lordship Lane and access to grocery stores (though couple of small shops on ED Road and one on N Barry Road), restaurants etc. Fusion gym is very handy for this part of ED and I think is good value with a nice atmosphere if not the cleanest place in the world. Don't know anything about schools.

    • Hi  After a surprising split I find myself trying to furnish a home. If you gave anything that you don't want that may help I'd be so so so grateful if you could let me know please.  Thank you so much
    • Hallo As far as I know  info you have quoted is wrong.  You can phone for an appointment although I have always found it easier to do online. Go to their website for info on how to book appointments Any requests I have made have been reviewed and answered by a GP within 4 hours
    • Nadia did a great job tidying up my very very overgrown yard. (See the before and after photos). I live in New Zealand and my tenants said a neighbour has been complaining about the out of control ivy. Nadia was easy to contact so over WhatsApp, managed to liaise between me and my tenants. Her quote was reasonable for the amount of work that needed doing, and the end result is great! She sent photos throughout so I could track progress. Would highly recommend her to others.
    • My car was stolen a few months back from my driveway but I had a tracker and found it in a private car park in Lavender Hill close to the police station. I was lucky. The thieves hide it up against that eventuality. High spec cars are targeted I'm afraid. The way it was stolen required the thieves to wire in their own computer accessing a front light (which had had a metal sheet welded across which they prised off). They had searched for a tracker but not found it. They also had to cut away a steering wheel lock. They had to come well tooled up and briefed to do what they did. Beating them off is non trivial. As I said, them not finding my tracker was just lucky.
