Hi EDFers

I've been trying to find a campsite within two hours drive of us that is open in November. I've contacted several places that advertise as being open all year (via pitchup.com), but have either not had a response, or they are saying that they close on 31 Oct.

Can anyone recommend a lovely campsite that allows open fires, has good walks and good pubs nearby?

I haven't actually been, but I remember hearing good things about a campsite that allows fires in the Vale of the White Horse. Looks like it's this one http://www.britchcombefarm.co.uk/. Doesn't say when they are open but appears to fit the bill on other counts, walks are certainly good around there, along the ridgeway especially, and there is a pub quite near by if I recall correctly.

    • Useful link, thanks. I see that neither of the Dulwich Hill councillors are standing again but one of the new Labour candidates for DH recently left the Lib Dems… The Greens are led by someone who left the Lib Dems and full of people who left Labour. Reform is full of those who left the Tories. And the Tories are full of those who left our planet some time ago. Confused? You will be!
    • I'm sorry to learn that though Liam does seems well qualified. Hopefully with McAsh gone, Southwark Labour will turn to Charlie to fill the gap.
    • As I understand it Charlie Smith did put himself forward for selection in GG but Labour members chose someone else to represent them, Liam McGrath https://southwarklabour.com/our-candidates/   It'll be interesting to see if there are other defections - surely the Greens want a drip, drip, drip of news from now to May suggesting the momentum is with them.
    • Thanks for your feedback - we always appreciate hearing from members about their experience. The pool temperature at JAGS Sports Club is maintained at 29oC, in line with industry guidelines for mixed-use pools.  This temperature has been designed to balance comfort for lane swimmers and families. Air temperature is also monitored regularly to ensure a comfortable environment for swimmers, spectators and staff. The shower Temperature Mixing Valves (TMVs) were changed in December to improve consistency, and we hope this has made a noticeable difference. If you would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please contact us directly at [email protected] or 020 8613 6500 and we'll be really happy to help.
